The Role:
1. Basic Function and Scope:

The Process Manager supports the Project Management Team (PMT) during the EPC phase of the Project. Ensure that the design and field process engineering work meet the Project safety, environmental, operational, quality, reliability, cost, and schedule objectives.

2. Tasks and Duties:


a. Support the Project Director in coordinating/communicating various issues that affect the process engineering design, safety, and regulatory compliance of the work.
b. Responsible for the development of detail Process engineering design and field engineering for the project through the EPC Contractor
c. Responsible throughout the development of overall Process engineering for the project carried out by the Contractor
d. Accountable for the successful completion of assigned engineering tasks and preparation of engineering deliverables
e. Interface with PMT Engineering disciplines (mechanical, civil/structural, electrical, instrumentation, piping, welding, etc.) to ensure a coordinated design and complete engineering deliverables
f. Review equipment lists, line lists, tie-in lists, Process Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Process engineering calculations, Process equipment specifications and data sheets etc.
g. Coordinate the various aspects of the process engineering, including design, planning and development
h. Provide specialist technical input into team project work, provide input and evaluation into estimates.
i. Oversee the cost effective, safe and timely completion of projects that meet or exceed expectations
j. Liaise with contractors, vendors and other stakeholders on a technical level and present reports, publications and presentations in a professional manner
k. Apply a knowledge of safety, environmental and energy-related issues during the execution of projects
l. Responsible in the development of nationals by providing direct on-the-job experience, coaching and mentoring
m. Responsible to lead the process engineering team in an efficient and effective manner, and create the good-to-work environment.
n. Responsible for insuring that Management of Change (MOC) on process design is performed according to established procedures, and participate in the evaluation of process related change request before approval.
o. Responsible to appraise process engineers periodically.
p. Responsible for process engineering interfaces relating to licensors when applicable.

q. Evaluate / comment work performed by the Contractor and sub-contractors to insure that the work is being executed in accordance with project specifications, COMPANY standards, and regulatory requirements. Includes review of process design drawings, process data sheets and specifications.

r. Identify and assess deviations to Contract Technical Specifications and regulatory requirements; ensure that such deviations will be processed according to project procedures and maintains Deviation Control Log.

s. Steward process engineering queries from the Contractor and sub-contractors as well as technical information requests.

t. Contributes to the development of Project Report and protocols to ensure successful GATE compliance reviews.

u. Keep Project Director informed of process engineering progress, deviations, and execution concerns.

v. Participate in safety reviews (HAZID, QRA, etc.), safety process reviews (HAZOP, SIL,…) and process engineering reviews at Contractor's and subcontractor's locations.

w. In collaboration with the Project Director, gain alignment with the PMT on process engineering needs, objectives, and requirements:

• Participate in kick-off meetings and other meetings with the Contractor and PMT to ensure common understanding of engineering requirements, including deliverables.
• Conduct project team member briefing sessions with respect to process engineering requirements.

x. Participate actively in the project's change management program.

y. Steward the process of capturing and communicate process engineering lessons learned for the project.

z. Assist the Project Director in stewarding the contractor's activities with respect to process engineering execution including:

• Ensure that all affected parties are familiar with engineering execution plans, procedures, objectives, and overall job requirements.
• Ensure that the contractor staffs the project with adequate numbers of qualified personnel.
• Ensure that the contractor employs the appropriate process design tools, including computer hardware and software.
• Ensure that the contractor adheres to all appropriate specifications and standards.
• Ensure that the contractor provides all contract documents, including those referred to in the job spec.
• Reinforce the requirement for the contractor to control the work, i.e. accurate and timely progress measurement and reporting.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
a. Bachelors or Master of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering

b. Excellent understanding of Project Technical requirements

c. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

d. Excellent interpersonal skills
