The Company:
Our client has an immediate opening for a HSE Process Safety Advisor within an Owner Project Offices .

The Role:
Responsible for coordinating Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) design in projects and ensuring that all appropriate HSE features are incorporated into the design; including Process Hazard Analysis, consequence modeling and fire protection; which includes:

• HSE design found in conceptual design, front-end (FEED) and detailed engineering design
• Accountable to perform a detailed, end-to-end investigation for all Project Safety related incidents to complete a root cause analysis by analyzing the situation, process and facts.
• Developing HSE activity quality plans, schedules, deliverables for projects
• Conducting engineering discipline HSE audits;
• Conduct design HSE reviews, e.g. HAZOPs and consequence modeling;
• Confirming that HSE engineering practices and associated procedures are implemented on projects;
• Fire protection engineering & FHA analysis;
• Conducting/coordinating Environmental Impact Studies if required and in close contact with Project engineer and project Environmental Management.
• Ensure consistency and quality in development of HSE and Engineering Management Plans to meet regulator timeframes to meet project schedules.
• Participate in and ensure the quality of HSS risk assessments, Hazard ID and other safety engineering studies and processes.
• Support the development of an Incident and Injury Free culture within the Team including contractors, joint venture partners and the wider Project Team.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Extensive experience in safety and risk engineering within an operations or project organization
• Experience in the oil and gas, chemical or complex refining industry
• A degree in chemical, mechanical or process engineering
• Strong communication skills and an ability to engage internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to interface across groups
• A tertiary qualification in a Safety Engineering or a risk-related subject would be highly regarded
