The Role:
As a key member of the Operations team, the Process Safety Lead is a pivotal role and will play a vital part in the implementation of Operations Readiness activities in order to ensure capability is built into the Operations team in time for Start-up. Working closely with within the Commissioning and Start-Up team to assist in all pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities for the facility the Process Safety Lead will contribute to achieving zero injuries, incidents and maintaining standards for achieving excellence in operational performance. Once operational this position will lead the process safety team to ensure process safety objectives are established, measured and reported and ensure the company's vision of being best in class for process safety is achieved.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you take responsibility for:

Development and team application of process safety tools, practices and key operating metrics in an effort to maximise safe operation of the APLNG facility;
Providing process team support for all project phases including engineering design review – risk assessment, Process Hazard Analysis, process and design reviews, heat and material balance;
Reviewing, prioritising and approving the process safety function within the Management of Change process. This will include the risk evaluation and revision approval of operating parameters, operating control schemes and shutdowns and overall process information for changes to the facility;
Active participation in HSE activities as a Safety Leader
Supervising and mentoring a team of process safety engineers and support staff proving process safety programs and support to Operations
Assessing and developing key LNG plant process safety understandings including development and management of process safety KPIs
Managing key process safety management programs (maintenance and compliance) such as safe operating limits and risk register management
Provision of technical advice and troubleshooting during plant start-up and commissioning phases in full support of the Field Operations and Commissioning and Start-up Manager
Accountability for the Operations Management of Change (MOC) program

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering degree qualified, you will have substantial experience in an industrial environment (ideally LNG) and have a proven background in Commissioning and Start-up projects and demonstrated knowledge of Management of Change practices.
You will have the ability to work autonomously as well as strong leadership and interpersonal skills and have expert knowledge of hazard identification methodologies and risk management tools.
