The Company:
Our client is a Major International EPC Company executing industrial mega-projects in Canada.

This opportunity is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents only. First consideration will be given to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Role:
•Establish, as part of a project in collaboration with the Project Manager and Director of Project controls, procurement strategies for defining the criteria for selection of lots and equipment/materials and critical to long delays on the construction and procurement
• Develop the procurement strategy and participate in procurement planning and construction contract packages; participate in the preparation of detailed estimates and budget control
• Prepare the procurement plans
• Manage and ensure the development of procurement employees under his responsibility
• Participate in various meetings: project review, risk management, etc..
• Finalize the development of commercial conditions for construction contracts and purchase orders
• Prepare and update the list of bidders for construction contracts and purchase orders; obtaining any necessary approval
• Ensure the implementation and compliance of all policies and procedures for procurement
• Upon receipt of technical evaluations, prepare technical and commercial recommendations
• Prepare and execute contracts in accordance with project procedures
• Define the expediting and storage levels for equipment and materials
• Ensure any action relating to the payment of customs duties
• Ensure the appropriate application of methods and systems of control materials on site

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor degree an asset
Minimum of 15 years of experience in the areas of procurement (preferably in the domain of consulting engineering)
At least ten years experience in a managerial or supervisory role
Load shipping experience
Experience for shipping into remote parts of Northern Canada
Team oriented
Excellent knowledge of procurement mechanisms, expediting, logistics, construction contracts, material control and quality surveillance
Ability to exercise judgment and make decisions based on the interpretation of policies relating to the planning and implementation of procurement activities
