The Role:
• To supervise the procurement and materials function across all company OPO Contracts.
• Co-ordination and distribution of all company O, E & O Procurement and Materials team workload.
• Continuous development of improved and efficient methods of working.
• Development and maintenance of all company O, E & O procurement and materials processes and procedures.
• Liaise regularly with and where applicable have regular meetings with Business Managers to understand their needs with relation to P&M activities on existing Projects and new Projects as they each evolve ensuring that the most efficient use of P&M personnel is achieved.
• Monitor procurement and materials team’s ongoing performance, obtaining customer feedback to ensure any perceived or genuine shortcomings are addressed.
• Monitor supplier performance, negotiate with suppliers, assist with and approve joint recommendations for purchase, and make recommendations concerning procurement strategies for the purchase/rental of Goods and Services.
• Where applicable issue ITT’s for supply of major Goods and Services by either Purchase Order or Contract process.
• Coordinate FPAL review meetings.
• Ensure bidder lists, equipment and materials control schedules are developed by the P&M teams to reflect individual Project requirements.
• Provide procurement and materials support to the Business Development and Estimating Teams as required for tenders and new business proposals.
• Co-ordination and communication of procurement and materials best practices.
• Promote knowledge sharing, innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
• Assist in conducting competency assessment and development within and for the P&M Team.
• Understanding of internal and external client requirements and expectations.
• Liaise with corporate supply chain, procurement and materials management and functions.

Technical Assurance -
• To support projects by provision of competent personnel and professional personnel.
• To monitor and develop the competence of staff to meet the requirements of projects.
• To assist projects in maintaining appropriate professional standards for project execution.
• To ensure that the work undertaken is consistent with the discipline’s professional standards for the relevant projects complexity and any commercial liabilities.
• Promote awareness of Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality aspects of discipline of work to achieve fit-for-purpose commercial activities.

Resource Management -
• To assign staff and resources as required to meet the fluctuating demands of internal and external projects.
• To produce regular projections of required manpower to satisfy ongoing work demands.
• To conduct all staff appraisals and competence assessments.
• To review opportunities for individual skill development through attendance at conferences, courses, seminars with approval of the management team.
• To review and approve regular updates of staff CVs such that they best reflect the skills and experience of the individual.
• To participate in the ongoing strengthening of the Company’s expertise by regular screening of CVs and interviewing of personnel potentially available to the Company and to make recommendations for their recruitment or other wise.
• To promote individual personal development.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Will be a self-starter and demonstrate a high level of initiative and have excellent customer service skills.
• Must be a team player.
• Extensive procurement and materials experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Excellent leadership skills.
• First class communication skills.
