The Company:
Our Client is firmly established as a specialist energy supplier to industry and commerce across the UK and has been operating in this market since 1999. They offer an innovative range of energy supply products to meet the requirements of all types of business, from small industrial and commercial companies, to energy-intensive industrial plants. They are constantly developing new products and adapting services to meet the needs of business customers throughout the country.

The Role:
• To ensure that cost-effective and high performing agreements are delivered and managed in a professional and ethical manner throughout the duration of the Project.
• Co-ordinate activities to ensure agreements are placed in order to meet the Project Schedule and support the projects ongoing activities.
• Develop overall procurement strategy associated with platform construction activities.
• Ensure Company is not exposed to unnecessary contractual or commercial risk in the course of its business.

Responsibilities:
• Accountable for performing all duties with due regard to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of self, others and the environment in which they are undertaken
• Provide direction and guidance to ensure high standards in Procurement work and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure all activities are undertaken in accordance with Company procedures (C&P procedures, HSE etc) and industry good practice.
• In conjunction with C&P manager and procurement team developing procurement strategies and plans for the successful delivery of the Project
• Supports or leads the development of prequalification’s, requests for information / quotation and bid lists
• Supports or leads the tendering, evaluation and negotiation process in relation to the award of agreements and makes recommendations to management, ensuring strict compliance with supply chain rules, procedures and industry codes of conduct.
• Drafts agreements, processes amendments and variations and ensures internal and partner approvals are obtained.
• Supports or leads quarterly reviews, FPAL assessments and performance reviews and identifies improvement plans for under-performing contracts.
• Ensures contractors/suppliers are managed in an integrated manner in order to achieve one team spirit and no boundaries. Identifies opportunities to develop and promote positive relationship management with contractors and suppliers, leading to a focus on creating sustainable value.
• Promotes continuous improvement in all aspects of contracts management
• Takes ownership for the continuous development of personal and technical expertise and knowledge.
• Ensures commercial and contractual risk is considered in all technical documentation
• Provides leadership and direction to team members and ensures the delivery of team objectives.
• Ensure a quality service is provided on all contractual and commercial agreement matters.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Preference for Degree qualified in e.g. Purchasing and Supply
• Desirable to be Professionally qualified e.g. RICS, CIPS.
• Experience within the Supply chain environment.
• Experience of leading other procurement professionals.
• Proven expertise, in particular aspects of platform construction.
• Developed tender evaluation models & competent negotiator with Tenderers.
• Demonstrable experience of tendering, awarding and managing Contracts.
• Managed internal and Contractor relationships at a senior level.
• Knowledge of traditional and innovative procurement methodology to achieve Contacting objectives.
• Sound commercial awareness and up-to-date knowledge of industry/regulatory contracting practices.
• Good knowledge of office / supply chain IT systems/software e.g. Microsoft Office, SAP.
