The Company:
Our client is a nuclear specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, across the complete lifecycle from New Build, through Operations and Maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste disposal.

The Role:
Main purpose of job

To proactively deliver an effective and efficient procurement service for meeting performance, time, quality and savings requirements for direct project related activities in the main but also contributing to tender bid submissions, supplier development, and corporate purchase arrangements as required

Scope of job

To identify, prepare, agree and implement the procurement strategy on each project for which I am involved. To manage and implement appropriate tender enquiry processes, as required by our procedures, to provide a robust, sustainable and corporately aligned outcome, and to maximise competitiveness and efficiencies.
To ensure that suppliers tenders are adequately reviewed and assessed technically and commercially by the project team as appropriate.
To ensure that all Orders placed on the Supply Chain are properly requisitioned, approved, issued, and
agreed and signed by Suppliers on the appropriate terms and conditions.
To manage the procurement officers working in my team to support their development and training. Proactively assist the management of the supplier database to support the business needs and future objectives and aid development of suitable tier 3 suppliers.

Dimensions and limits of authority

To ensure all Purchase Orders are requisitioned, approved and placed with our suppliers in accordance with procedures.
To ensure our suppliers agree the contract terms and conditions and sign our purchase orders.
As required, to sign purchase orders issued to our suppliers in accordance with nominated delegations as issued under the Company’s authorisations procedure CP0905 and Company Procurement Procedure CP0801.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications

Qualified as a Chartered Member of the Institute of Purchasing and Supply Professional Stage [MCIPS] and/or a chartered member of a respected and relevant institute.
MCIPs qualification required

Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a procurement role
Working knowledge of NEC type contracts is preferred.
Experience working in the nuclear industry or similarly regulated industry would be of benefit.
Min 5 years’ experience working as a procurement professional within a highly regulated industry
Nuclear experience preferred but not essential
