The Company:
Our client is an independent Australian oil and gas company playing a key role in supplying energy to our region.

They are one of the world’s leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The Role:
For our client we are looking for a Procurement Specialist with a strong background in offshore facilities and maintenance who can strengthen the company’s team. This is a Perth based opportunity, 6 months contract initially, immediate start / short notice required.

In this position, your key responsibilities include:

• Accountable and responsible for the consistent, reliable and timely procurement services to internal customers
• Develop procurement strategies so that commercial and non-commercial benefits and outcomes are maximised and risks appropriately managed
• Ensure internal customer, supplier and supply chain personnel compliance to policy and standards
• Actively liaise with planners and key stakeholders to understand current and forecast future demands for materials, services and repairs
• Monitor, manage and report supplier performance and address non-performance
• Timely and accurate conversion of approved requisitions to purchase orders in line with business requirements.
• Perform appropriate due diligence on vendors as required within Procurement operating standards, procedures and guidelines
• Provide on call coverage at times throughout the year

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Proven procurement & supply chain experience in a complex environment
• Extensive experience in materials, services and repairs / refurbishment buying
• Excellent knowledge of contemporary procurement practices and the end to end supply chain
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in a Tier 1 ERP environment (SAP / Oracle) is desired
