The Company:
Our Client is an independent Australian oil and gas company playing a key role in supplying energy to our region.

They are one of the world’s leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The Role:
Our Client is looking for a Procurement Team Leader to ensure the efficient, effective and timely supply of materials and services to internal customers in compliance with our client’s Purchase to Payment (P2P) policies and operating standards. Your duties will include but not limited to:

• Manage the development and implementation of suitable systems and processes to deliver quality procurement controls that meet the Production and Maintenance team needs
• Actively engage and collaborate with supply chain colleagues, internal customers and suppliers to improve end to end supply chain performance
• Maintain an up to date understanding of SAP and other procurement systems and technologies
• Provide clear direction on business and customer priorities, objectives and expectations
• Develop team members and grow capability to achieve business outcomes
• Develop and embed a high awareness of health & safety within the team

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
In order to fulfil the role you must have the ability to demonstrate knowledge, capability and competence in the following aspects:

• Proven procurement experience with emphasis on procurement for a large and diverse organisation, preferably in Oil & Gas or the Resources Industry
• Sound knowledge of current procurement practices and the end to end supply chain
• Proven and extensive experience in a SAP ERP environment
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and sound analytical and problem solving skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree qualification in supply chain or business
• Experience in leading and managing small teams
• Sound understanding of the production and maintenance environment
• Sound understanding of business & continuous improvement methodologies and processes
