The Role:
SCOPE:
Working on a 30/30 or 45/45 rotation, incumbent shall be competent to operate offshore sour gas production facilities including offshore wells, wellhead, auxiliary and gas gathering platforms.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Be familiar with different components of the systems such as well X-tree, HIPS, Choke valves, scraping, SCADA, ESD, etc.
Perform or assists in the start-up or shut-down of assigned gas production facilities according to the facilities Operating Instructions Manuals or approved engineering procedure and general instructions.
Monitor operating conditions and recommend in-process adjustments to ensure safe and efficient process operation.
Identify and state the functions of a SCADA System. Familiar with and understand temperature, pressures, flow rate, volumes etc. reported on SCADA and promptly identify anomalies from these readings.
Carry out gas producing requirements including well tests, well integrity testing, and sampling of produced well fluids. Be able to understand changes of conditions of wells casing or tubing conditions and highlight such changes as early as possible to engineering for further action.
Responds to emergency or upset conditions taking necessary shut-down or process adjustment action to restore stable operating conditions.
Makes regular inspection of Production facilities to ensure all facilities functioning correctly. Corrects malfunction if capable or refer situation to Superintendent.
Be able to manage a team of Operators including shifts which are led by Supervisors.
Has the technical capability to mentor and provide assessment of training of operators.
Cooperates with maintenance personnel by locating and demonstrating malfunctioning plant and equipment. Inspects maintenance work as assigned.
Conversant with scraper launching, receiving and scraper operations in general. Conversant with chemical handling requirements (MSDS).
Competent to handle flow assurance issues e.g. gas hydrates.
Ensures that safe operating practices are adhered to at all times. Conversant with Safety Management Systems. Performs the duties of a Firewatch/Standby Man and other critical roles under him emergency situations.
Has requisite Helicopter Underwater Escape and Hydrogen Sulfide Training including the use of H2S monitors/detectors and SCBA. Very conversant with work permit system.
Performs other miscellaneous duties as directed by the producing Superintendent or Foreman.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
B.S. Degree or diploma in Engineering
Operating experience as Production Operations Supervisor or Foreman in offshore facilities with proven ability to operate high pressure, high rate, offshore sour gas producing facilities.
Thorough understanding of offshore producing facilities and the production process. Must possess the flexibility to rotate and operate other facilities of similar complexity after a reasonable break-in period.
Be able to understand plant operations and safety drawings such as P&ID, PFD, Cause and Effect, and Emergency escape. etc
