The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.
Positions are predominantly based from Gaydon, although infrequent travel to Whitley may be required

The Role:
Development and implementation of structural CAE/virtual techniques across the Product Analysis and Verification Group. This role involves structural analysis activities and technology development projects.
The structural analysis activities require application of JLR CAE toolset to determine strength, stiffness, modal and fatigue performance of test rig components and assemblies. The technology development projects focus on the development of new techniques to more closely align the virtual (CAE) and physical testing environments. Examples include new methods to use real strain data to reconstruct loads from complex geometry through CAE methods, and investigating the use of photogrammetry to provide better correlation information for CAE teams throughout the business.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
*Advanced-user knowledge of the Abaqus and Hyperworks tool suites, ideally applied within an automotive environment, to assess strength, stiffness and fatigue although other FE tool sets may be considered. * * * Knowledge of multibody simulation tools, ideally SimPack and the use of multiaxis tyre models (FTyre) would be equally considered
* Working knowledge of common CAD packages.
* Knowledge of implicit and implicit non-linear numerical analysis methods and their application Good knowledge of stress/strain and fatigue theory .
* Three to five years experience working in a CAE environment.
* Extensive experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and numerical methods applied to the assessment of metallic structures in terms of strength, stiffness, modal and durability performance
and/or carrying out Multibody simulations to determine system performance / load predictions.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge and application of HBM NCode fatigue software Basic knowledge of explicit numerical analysis methods Working knowledge of Dassault CATIA V5 Knowledge in programming in Visual Basic Applications / Python
