The Company:
Our Client is a large Automotive and Commercial Vehicle OEM, with a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering on a contract basis. These opportunities are typically based in their research and development facility located in Dunton which is the largest automotive technical centre in the United Kingdom.

The Role:
Support Ford of Europe Emissions Planning Process for all FoE led programs, and for all products engineered for the FoE region by product teams located outside Europe. Hold a comprehensive overview of European and Global emission requirements and related market factors (e.g. Fuels, Climate, Unique Certification) to maintain `Emissions Database (EDB) with the latest corporate forecast (from FSMS). Maintain technical knowledge on potential future emission legislation (EU and Global) such as WLTP and RDE, providing planning interpretation, understanding engineering implications and developing lobbying advice as appropriate. Own and update Eu Emissions `Phase In Plan showing planned emission compliance for all products in Europe coincident with Cycle Plan A and B updates. Monitor global status for programs engineered by FoE as LEA. Other Key Responsibilities Support FoE Business Plan input for all products on sale in Europe to ensure Technical, Product and Finance assumptions are aligned and agreed to deliver the Emissions Strategy. Lead planning development of Emission programs and strategies to address future legislative needs, instigating any supporting Powertrain and Vehicle actions as necessary, to ensure Emission cycle plan is fully supported. Maintain close collaboration with x-functional teams including; Sustainability, Environmental & Safety Engineering (SE&SE); Powertrain Engineering (PTE); Powertrain, Powerpack & Carline Planning teams; Finance; Research & Advanced (R&A). Develop management review papers and carry out special Emission Planning and Advanced Powertrain Technology studies as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skills Required:
Excellent oral and written communication with polished presentation skills. Prior experience of presenting to senior level preferable. Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Evidence of organisational and facilitation skills. Strong interpersonal skills and experience of working effectively with x-functional teams. Self-motivated and ability to operate with minimal supervision.

Experience Required:
Strong knowledge of Gas & Diesel Powertrain system function and their interactions with vehicle system.
Strong knowledge of Gas & Diesel Emission technologies and implementation.
Knowledge of Automotive business, global markets, and sustainability requirements.
Prior experience of technical and/or business proposal development.

Education Required:
Relevant degree or have completed two thirds of formal study towards degree course and commitment to complete studies, or equivalent experience.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience Preferred:
Knowledge of Ford GPDS deliverables and the engineering development gateway approval process.
