Our client is part of a global automotive group who have been trading in the UK for almost sixty years.
The Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic person to develop their career by joining the Commercial Vehicles Product Marketing team responsible for developing the product portfolio and launching new products into the market place.
The Product Manager will be responsible for the development of individual model strategies including lifecycle planning, pricing, and specification and positioning for the relevant models.
Key responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain the product portfolio throughout the entire lifecycle
• Volume and mix planning for the individual products
• Development of tactical support / activities (especially in light of competitor actions)
• Analyse market data identifying market and segment trends and key competitor activities, including indexation performance
• Be the central point of contact for relevant product issues for internal and external colleagues
• Ensure that relevant product information is communicated effectively to all internal and external stakeholders
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Proactive product enthusiast
• Excellent analytical and project management skills
• Commercially aware - ability to understand the broader picture and incorporate an understanding of the factory, importer, network and industry requirements into the decision-making process
• Strategic thinker - ability to think long-term and be creative and innovative
• Financially aware - input into the budgetary spend through tactical proposals and an understanding of the implication of this
• Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels:
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet challenging deadlines
• Well-proven communication and networking skills
• Highly numerate with meticulous attention to detail
• German language skills would be an advantage
• Experience within the automotive industry is essential for this role
