The Role:
Main Goals and Objectives:
Responsible for the co-ordination of Product Planning across all Product Lines within Product Management. Co-ordinating and maintaining the clients Product Cycle Plan ensuring it meets the Business targets, and providing assistance in the development of the associated product strategies

Main Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Product Planning
a. Co-ordinate and maintain the clients Cycle plan in line with strategic business direction including communication
b. Assist in cross-functional work to develop the clients Product Strategy and ensure information to allow robust Board decision making
c. Support, present and lead cross-platform topics (e.g. legal compliance, CO2, Powertrain, Technology roadmap, MBK, platforms) ensuring cross-product line synergy and manage interaction
d. Support the Business in the development of derivative strategies, model discontinuation and succession strategies
2. Current Product Delivery
a. Co-ordinate and assist the Product Lines in the delivery of information into the B-VAP (new product, product actions, facelift and model years)
b. Maintain consistency across the Product Lines and provide guidance in association with Product Emergence Process (PEP)
c. Support projects in the preparation of papers and communication of information
3. New Product Delivery
a. Manage evaluation of new programme proposals, including the development and maintenance of the Project Specification (TPB)
b. Support cross-functional pre-PEP activities to define timing, budget, benchmarking, product definition and business cases for new projects
c. Lead cross-functional teams to define each product lifecycle
d. Prepare Board meeting and K-VAP papers to support new programme approval in the concept definition phase
4. Decision Forums
a. Co-ordinate and administer the Brand-VAP pre meetings (Pre-Product Day)
b. Co-ordinate and administer the Brand-VAP meetings (Product Day)
c. Maintain records of decisions
5. Process Improvement
a. Operate the Product Planning Process
b. Ensure compliance to Product Planning Processes
c. Define and lead continuous improvement activities for Product Planning and Product Strategy Processes

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skills and Experience:
Proven project management skills and experience ideally with large OEM
Experience of strategic planning
Strong VW product and process knowledge
Experience of management of business processes and leading process improvements
Good German skills
Good VW network
Strong strategic planning skills
Demonstrable communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
Proven problem solving and decision making skills
Facilitation skills with the ability to lead cross-business management teams
Customer orientation with the ability to build effective cross functional working relationships
Proven experience of delivering and preparing presentations at all levels in a variety of business forums

Practical and Technical Knowledge:
Knowledge of project delivery and associated processes
Strong industry knowledge and competitor understanding
Strong knowledge of Group Planning Round process
Knowledge of VW strategic planning processes for new product
