The Company:
Qatar produces 10 million tonnes per annum of chemicals, polymers and fertilisers, supplying and supporting the growth of a large number of industries around the world. Qatar’s output is planned to reach 23 million tonnes by 2020 due to the continuous investments in the sector. The government is investing $25 billion to expand the industry and build a sustainable and diversified economy. The next decade is set to be the ‘Chemical and Petrochemical Decade’ for Qatar.

The Role:
Assist the Product Manager to Analyse and develop the appropriate marketing strategies; to build an Operational Plan and link Strategies into the operational plan;; to manage the Customer Satisfaction Program and ensure the feedback is used to improve product quality, diversify range, improve product packaging, better logistics, etc; to manage activities related to Research & Analysis: either Economic or Commercial; to develop the Marketing strategy for various regions; to advise on the existing & potential international market for Polymers based on latest data; and to explore new avenues for business growth and propose these to Product Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Propose: Global Marketing & Sales Strategies related to gaining more market share and also work on alternate strategies (focus on creating: ‘core strategies’ & also ‘back-up plans’).

- Actively Participate & Contributes in creating the Marketing Strategy document (5 years horizon) and also the Operational Planning & Strategy (1 to 2 years horizon) documents.

- Contributes and participated with the Product Manager in the implementation of the marketing strategy & also in various initiatives linked to this implementation.

- Create ad-hoc & also Planned Reports, Researches, studies, Intelligence gathering based on needs of the management at Clients.

- Provide critical pricing inputs and insights into important price trends and market trends (anything that would directly or indirectly impact margins).

- Undertake various market researches to gain insights into prevailing market conditions and envisage important future trends.

- Provides regular updates based on the latest pricing trends, circulate the same to defined list of recipients.

- Works upon key inputs from research & also from the Global Marketing Network/regional sales teams with regards to pricing, new products/grade; perform Qualitative & Pricing Analysis based on the same.

- Manages the Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP), co-ordinate to contact customers & collate data, then analyse same to extract maximum benefit from the information customer has provided.

- Complete the CSP circuit to ensure that concerned persons are informed regards the outcomes of the Customer Satisfaction Program and also ‘corrective actions’ are taken to reduce / eliminate these areas of dissatisfaction / customer grievances.

- Manages and analyse the information gathered during tradeshows / exhibitions / seminars. Makes brief summary document and also detailed excel sheet covering all walk-ins at the tradeshows, and recommends further participation in the same shows.

- Keeps the information gathered from various sources in a systematic & organized manner.

- Carries out detailed economic and commercial evaluation studies for the expansion of our Global network.

- Carries out specific marketing surveys to investigate position & image in the market.

- Maintains all the records of approved periodic Price Guidelines and related matters/approvals.

- Provides annual product requirement and other relevant information for the preparation of annual Operational budget.

- Assists in preparation of country/grade/product wise sales budgets.

- Assist the Product Manager in developing/maintain Financial Models.

Internal:

- Direct contacts with all personnel at all levels, in addition to the Global Marketing Network., Supply Chain Department staff.

External:

- Continuous Contact with internationally renowned professional forums like: GPCA, GOIC, Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Regional Plastic Manufacturers Associations, etc.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent.

Experience:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Market Research preferable. Very good knowledge of spoken and written English. Computer literacy.
