The Company:
Our Client is an independent Australian oil and gas company playing a key role in supplying energy to our region.

They are one of the world’s leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The Role:
A new position has arisen for a Production Allocation Engineer based in Perth on a contract basis. The position is to provide expertise in production allocation, metering and implementation of commercial agreements within the Production Allocation System (PAS). The role is accountable for the following:

• The management and governance over the production allocation process and the overall accuracy of reported production data.
• Performing data validation on the hydrocarbon accounting system inputs and outputs and working with relevant operations stakeholders to ensure data quality
• For ensuring daily and monthly reports are accurate and issued on time
• For the timely and accurate development or modification of allocation models, calculations and reports based on requirements from both internal and external stakeholders
• For driving, challenging and influencing the outcomes of threats and opportunities impacting production allocation, measurement, performance monitoring and reporting
• For developing a management system covering processes and procedures for production allocation, measurement, performance monitoring and reporting
• For developing the QA management system for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of PAS data. For example,. metering calibration checks, frequency of calibrations, internal audit on metering and measurement in assets
• For providing mentoring and guidance for the PAS team
• For influencing key Production stakeholders in the pursuit of efficient, accurate and sustainable Hydrocarbon Accounting practices
• For providing advice and technical support to Project and Development departments for new developments requiring PAS
• For providing high level technical expertise on types and application of metering and measurement systems.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree preferred, with a preference for the degree coming from technical fields such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science/Information Systems or physics.
• Experienced in data collection and analysis
• Experienced in databases management and data extraction using tools such as Business Objects and Babelfish
• Experienced in onshore & offshore and LNG operations
• Experienced in hydrocarbon accounting processes, procedures and packages
• Knowledge of Australian fiscal requirements in terms of measurement accuracy
• Knowledge on international and Australian standards and best practice on metering and measurement
• Commercial awareness and competency
• Detailed knowledge of oil and gas production systems from reservoir to market including hydrocarbon properties, sampling, well testing and PVT analysis.
