The Role:
This London based role, reporting to the Operations Manager is the key support for the Operation and Maintenance teams to ensure continuity with the Chad based team working rotation. This position has the responsibility as the functional supervisor and support of the Chad Production and Maintenance teams, including the production and maintenance superintendents, senior production engineers and the teams below them. In addition, the role has the responsibility of functional alignment with the Chad office and field management teams to ensure operational alignment and corporate goals are achieved. The field has three upstream processing facilities and associated wells with a connecting 100km pipeline and future development acreage. A field development plan is in place to further develop the fields.

Key responsibilities:

OPEX Budget Management - Support field management in development, reporting and execution of all key operations' areas including employees and consultants, mechanical repairs, chemical usage, inspections and testing, equipment rentals, etc.
- Organization Management - Managing operations and maintenance organization in coordination with Field Management Team. Focus on continuous optimization meeting and exceeding business needs, supporting nationalization and integrating team plan with other departments.
- Technical Authority Support - Technical support and coordination of technical support when required. Ensure technical decisions reflect best practice and corporate standards. Support for operations and maintenance activities in meeting targets and managing technical and financial risks. Monitor industry trends and remain up to date with new technologies.
- Production and Operations Engineering - Technical support and coordination between Chad based production engineering and operations teams with the London based, Projects and Facilities Engineering, Asset Management and Reservoir Engineering teams. Technical support includes: artificial lift, upstream process facilities, production chemical requirements, MOC process, project scope development, HAZID and HAZOP reviews.
Maintenance Management - A key requirement of the Technical Authority Support is Maintenance experience in CMMS development.
- Field Travel and Communication - This job will require frequent travel to Chad, Africa and other destinations. Communications can be limited but this position will provide a key link between field operations and London based support. This role is accountable to achieving production targets, reliability targets, managing OPEX costs and integrating Facilities, Drilling and Completion Engineering projects with the needs of the operations teams to achieve business targets

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering degree or equivalent from a reputable university and significant experience of working within this discipline.
Previous field experience in Africa
