The Role:
The contractor chemist will be working with lead chemist and technician for the design, implementation, calibration, troubleshooting and maintenance of process analytical instruments in R&D and pilot plant environments (online and at-line gas chromatographs and other instruments).
Use the knowledge in process analyzers (hardware, software and method development) to specify, design, implement and modify online or at-line analytical instruments and solutions;
Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, calibration, repair and system updates on various instruments currently in service;
Develop documentations of analytical systems installed, such as schematics, SOP and training materials; Communicate plans, issues, corrective actions and results promptly with supervisor and customers;
Perform compositional analysis on gas and liquid samples as needed;
Ensure that all tasks are carried out following safety requirements and regulations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
An advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Chemistry or other engineering/science disciplines.
Expertise in process analyzers such as gas chromatography, spectroscopy and sensor technologies, with a minimum 3-year experience in the design and implementation of instruments for the Oil & Gas industry. Familiarity with R&D and pilot plant operations.
Must be able to work independently, demonstrate excellent organizational skills and be able to prioritize tasks effectively.
Must possess strong communication skills (oral, verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal skills.
Must have good computer skills (Microsoft Office). Proficiency with chromatography data systems (OpenLAB EZChrom or ChemStation) is preferred.
