The Role:

• To monitor, review and drive the product through the manufacturing stages.
• Work closely with production planning to receive demand and provide daily updates on progress.
• To ensure parts shortages, stock losses or quality defects affecting the assembly of products are resolved quickly and effectively, for high standards of right first time, assembly efficiency and build completion on time.
• Work closely with: manufacturing, material planners, buyers, project teams, stores, quality inspection, ATE and engineering to ensure orders are expediently progressed through the factory.
• Monitor and control all aspects of the production (and pre-production) processes to ensure a smooth, efficient process flow for each works order / assembly.
• Be aware of and check on the current status of orders progressing through production, especially those behind or at risk to schedule.
• Advise project teams/planning team and management of any slippages likely to affect planned completions in timely manner and take action to mitigate the impact of such slippages.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other functions within Operations).
• Ensure agreed objectives and targets are achieved.
• Product scheduled time – compare plan versus actual hours, report on short falls and over times and support improvement process to support visibility of working systems
• As necessary, perform other production-related duties which require essentially the same level of skill and responsibility.
• Ensure that all company procedures are complied with and all actions are auditable whilst maintaining the highest personal, professional and ethical standards.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Business degree or equivalent HND / HNC within relevant industry.
• Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP system (e.g. Oracle, JD Edwards).
• Proficiency in Word, Excel & Other MS Office Applications.
• Experience in production planning & demonstrable use of MRP system.
• Proficiency in planning software / applications / tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera P3, SAP planning application).
• Good communication skills & ability to work as part of a team.
• The individual must be driven well disciplined, logical thinking, self motivated.
