The Role:
Act as the production data management single point of contact for an asset's production engineering staff.
Managing the business unit’s production data sets including data on file servers and in databases.
Responsible for supporting, promoting and documenting data management processes and procedures related to production data.
Ensure data completeness and quality in core petroleum engineering systems (e.g. Oil Field Manager, PI process historian, Diamant Master, WellView etc).
Review existing data and application workflows and strive for greater efficiencies – faster turn around times, consolidation of spreadsheets and reports, streamline data loading, more efficient use of resources etc.
Assist Production Data Manager in defining and implementing data standards and data management projects.
Strive to maintain data quality and perform rigorous analysis to resolve the root cause of any data related issue.
Responsible for PI tag validation. Follow up and resolve any data issues.
Encourage business users to follow and maintain best practice data management processes.
Ensure that all the output results and supporting documentation from data acquisition activities are received, indexed and archived in accordance with agreed procedures.
Actively participate in the technical data management network within the UK business unit to ensure cross functional alignment of processes and integration of data.
Ensure raw data and interpretation results are stored in appropriate databases. Work with Production Data Manager to determine suitable database location if none exist.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Petroleum Engineering (or similar) degree or relevant experience is required.
Good understanding of petroleum engineering databases and applications and their data requirements, especially Oil Field Manager, PI, Energy Components and WellView.
Good understanding of Oracle, sqlplus and MS Access in order to understand and maintain integration between operational systems.
Ability to plan and organize work as well as multi-task.
General understanding of all upstream data types and their relationships.
Working knowledge of drilling, production and appraisal activities and processes.
Work effectively in a team environment.
Good verbal communication skills.
