The Company:
Our Client is a Leading Global Operator in the Oil, Gas and Energy Industry. This role is based in our client's project offices in London (West) and supports our client's projects in Iraq.

The Role:
Note: Business trips to Iraq may be required.

The Professional Services Category Specialist will work in a number of indirect categories of spend - Professional Services (such as Audit services), Consulting Services and External Affairs. The Specialist will have responsibility for ensuring engagement with key stakeholders, up to and including VP level, and ensuring that end users and Procurement and SCM are fully aligned and working towards agreed plans across teams within the Iraq Region.

The role holder will be responsible for developing & implementing supplier management relationships with key strategic vendors on an as needed basis.

Key Role Accountabilities
• Sourcing activities in the following categories Professional Services, Consulting Services and External Affairs.
• Engagement with the Global Indirect Procurement teams to ensure alignment.
• Liaising with business stakeholders for allocated commodities & services.
• Supporting the project IP Procurement and SCM team in expediting & issue resolution.
• Participating or leading the full sourcing process which includes development of scope, supplier selection, commercial negotiation, risk mitigation and contract execution, ensuring the appropriate business involvement at all stages of the process.
• Shaping contractual terms and conditions, involving Legal when required, employing best practice in contracting methods to manage risk and maximise value.
• Identifying opportunities and realising value through effective use of strategic cost management tools (eg “should cost” analysis).
• Undertaking due diligence in mitigating all external supply risk from supplier selection through to contract execution.
• Development & sometimes presentation of Procurement and SCM papers to Iraq Committees (e.g. Contracts Review Committee – CRC)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree qualified or equivalent preferred.
• Procurement experience (e.g. sourcing and contract management)
• Strong facilitation & stakeholder engagement skills
• Being able to work under pressure and stringent time constraints.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Oil & Gas or Manufacturing industry experience.
• Global / Multi-national business experience.
• CIPS qualified or working towards.
• Use of esourcing tools, e.g.Ariba
• Experience of Indirect Categories such as Professional Services, Consulting Services and Contingent Labour
