The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
New Programmes Leader - responsible for the overall planning, co-ordination and delivery of a specific Powertrain manufacturing programme. Interface with all associated functions to ensure effective programme delivery from concept through to production launch. This will include, but is not limited to: - Product Engineering, Purchase, Manufacturing Operations, Supplier Technical Assistance and associated manufacturing partners.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* An understanding of the total manufacturing programme cycle from concept to launch.
* An understanding of powertrain manufacturing concepts and strategies and an understanding of the product creation system and associated manufacturing deliverables.
* Preparation of manufacturing programme status reports and analysis of associated data.
* Successful co-ordination of resolution actions and recovery plans to achieve programme targets.
* Co-ordination of deliverables status including risk management and overall manufacturing programme timing, planning tools and programme master schedule.
* Qualified to degree level.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Lean manufacturing knowledge and some experience in implementing new manufacturing processes.
* Ability to interface across functions and manage complex relationships.
* A good understanding of safety processes and proven leadership for delivering safe manufacturing facilities.
* Support the manufacturing feasibility process including change management.
* Replicate manufacturing best practise across programme(s) and co-ordinate project lessons learned, identify resource allocation to programme, highlight issues and support recovery plans.
* Experience of managing the installation, commissioning and launch of manufacturing facilities.
* Highly motivated and able to lead under own initiative.
* Good understanding of technical and financial issues for Powertrain Engineering.
