The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
My client is looking to recruit an experienced Programme Manager who will provide an efficient and effective Programme Management Service as part of a consortium agreement based in Aberdeenshire.
The Programme Manager will be required to efficiently direct and manage the planning and programming process to meet objectives within the T&D Substation business. Key tasks will involve providing information, guidance and support on programme matters to the tendering & project teams.

Key duties will include:

• Lead, develop and motivate the planning team.
• Ensure effective planning is carried out for all projects including OTD, adherence to key dates, milestones and outages.
• Ensure a robust adherence to procedure whilst looking for continuous improvement.
• Ensure robust programme change control is exercised across all projects
• To be aware of and maintain an understanding of the contract documents, codes of practice, standards and specifications in particular NEC3
• Provide consistent and useful programme reporting at project, delivery team and business level
• Maintain key resource capacity information at all times.
• Ensure effective programme support is provided for all tenders
• Be committed to anticipating and seeking out customer needs both internally and externally
• Seek and achieve an appreciation of customer’s needs and where an external customer their culture and style; actively builds close working relationships.
• Understand the financial implications of the methods and sequences of construction that are proposed and planned.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• HNC level (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline – Electrical or Mechanical.
• Expert level on Primavera P6
• Computer literacy – Minimum Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of CDM.
• Demonstrable knowledge/experience of successful project delivery of complex projects with multiple interfaces
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Comfortable interacting with all levels of management
• Happy to get involved and do what's needed
• Self starter.
