The Company:
A Large Operator

The Role:
This role is for a Programme Manager managing a large and complex suite of inter-related infrastructure Acquisition and Management projects linked as a holistic global programme of delivery.
The role manages the programme’s delivery and ensures it meets the expectations of the programme sponsors.
Stakeholder Management:
• Ensure sponsors receive the right information at the right time regarding programme performance
• Understand and meet the expectations of programme sponsors
• Monitor stakeholder expectations and take corrective action to address gaps
• Serve as the point of contact for the programme sponsors
• Communicate programme performance to programme sponsors

Oversee programme delivery:
• Be accountable for the delivery of Global Infrastructure programmes, capabilities and business solutions.
• Set overall direction for the Acquisition and Installation teams
• Monitor programme timelines, milestones, and resource usage to ensure programme objectives are delivered on time and within budget, and business results are realised
• Monitor programme-level risks and mitigation
• Contain and resolve issues within the programme that do not require sponsor attention, and escalate unresolved issues
• Be the final point of approval for contingency plans, scope changes
• Determine the impact of programme changes on the business case, and re-forecast value creation
• Provide programme performance information to programme sponsors per the defined schedule.
• Direct the delivery of all programmes and projects within scope in line with the business agenda through active sponsorship, leadership and involvement in specific initiatives to ensure they meet time, cost and quality requirements
• Direct the portfolio projects to ensure it aligns to the overall Business Strategy and is delivered to time, cost and quality standards
• Ensure, through sponsorship, that all project activities are cost effective, of the highest quality, are delivered on time and meet the business’ needs
• Assist Line Manager to work with the business to prioritise the portfolio of projects and manage the business’ expectations as to which projects will be developed and implemented
• Take overall responsibility for project budgets agreed with the business in order to achieve an acceptable level of risk and return for projects in line with agreed business plans
• Ensure that the work effort achieves the outcome specified in the business and IT strategies. This involves setting and reviewing objectives, coordinating activities across projects, and overseeing the integration and reuse of interim work products and results.
• Identify and manage any schedule dependencies with other programs of work. Identify any cross-program issues or risks, ensure resolutions and mitigations, and escalate as appropriate.
Provide greater management insight into progress
• Monitor the delivery of new or enhanced end-to-end Infrastructure solutions across Development, Testing and Release Management, to ensure that they meet the requirements of the business and will deliver target capability and benefits
• Provide a single picture in accordance with agreed reporting practices to the Enterprise Programme Office of the status and performance of all programme and project delivery to ensure transparency and clarity
• Design and implement key performance metrics to improve productivity and the overall project service provided to the company
• Ensure HSSE for all activities is managed effectively per the company's policies and standards

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject is preferred
• A recognised Programme Management qualification is preferred
• Significant experience in Programme Management for large-scale IT programmes
• Significant experience in Stakeholder Management
• Significant experience is Hardware Acquisition and Services Acquisition
• Experience creating business cases and monitoring benefits
• Experience of delivering technology solutions into an operational environment
• Experience of working with multiple third party vendors and partners
• Experience of tracking project financials and benefits against the project business case, and tracking project progress taking actions as required to deliver to the business case

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Financial Management, Quality management, Risk management and Knowledge management
• Able to contribute to strategic debates, helping to identify and address future opportunities and challenges
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills, able to determine the approximate impact of each issue quickly to prioritize further work
• Strong influencing skills and ability to positively and sensitively work with stakeholders
• Relationship Management skills, ability to build and create a strong internal network across levels and disciplines in the company
• Sound decision-making skills
• Strong People Management skills
• Excellent performance management skills with the ability to coach direct reports to develop their capabilities.
• Effective delegation skills.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
• Highly effective planning and prioritisation skills
