The Role:
In this role you will take over the execution of an EPC (lump sum turnkey) project. The Programme Manager will be the key person who is controlling the complete execution process to be in time, to be in budget as well as to guarantee the quality of works. You will report directly to the Steering Committee and Execution Board. Furthermore you will build-up the execution team, install the project organization, take over the communication with the customer and the partners and guide the team from the contract signing until the project closing.

SCOPE OF POSITION
This position covers full responsibility for the project in all belongings (technically and commercially) in close cooperation with the Commercial Project Manager (four eye principle).
The size of the project team in the UK will be approx. 5 team members: HSE Manager, Construction Manager, Claims Manager, Senior Project Engineer and the Programme Manager.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
This position interacts with all project relevant internal groups including Executive board, Project Management, Sales, Engineering, Quality Management, Finance, HR, Procurement, Product Development, Logistics, and Operations. This position also interacts with outside groups including suppliers and customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* To be responsible for contractual project execution and for fulfilment of project specific targets and quality standards set by the client
* Determine the project strategy in close cooperation with the Project Steering Committee
* Team building and team motivation and assessment of team member capabilities
* Applying lessons learnt and other knowledge to set up a comprehensive contract execution
* Reporting in accordance with the valid company regulations and to the Project Steering Committee directly
* Harmonize single decisions (areas of concern) of the Project Management directly to the Executive Board
* Update, maintain, monitor and control the scope/quality, time and budget baselines of the project
* Bear the overall responsibility for costs, quality, safety and agreed dates within the scope of the contract
* Act on behalf of the client vis-à-vis customer, partners and all stakeholders for the specific project in accordance with the respective company regulations
* Claim and Change Management including responsibility for the active enforcement or rejection of supplementary claims
* Discuss and agree any contract amendment or major event with the respective Head of Division
* Develop and update monthly an opportunity / risk profile on the basis of the valid project cost estimate
* Ensuring that the Export Controllers are appointed by the division correctly and that the specified export control measures to be taken for the specific project are implemented correctly
* Develop and update the risk matrix on a regular basis
* Collect and compile the lessons learnt from the project team.
* Lead the project/project team in terms of initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling as well as closing of the complete project
* Update, maintain, monitor and control the scope/quality, time and budget baselines of the project
* Set up the overall project structure and the Project Management Plan
* Be the focal point of contact with the customer in close co-operation with the CR Manager
* Reporting to internal and external stakeholders in terms of project progress and status reports, and escalation of unsolved interferences
* Coordinating project team tasks and clearly outlining the limits of the tasks to be fulfilled by the divisions/ departments involved (interface management)
* Assuming overall responsibility on project dedicated sites for the compliance with Health, Safety and Enviromental company requirements and applicable local regulations and applicable customer requirements in close cooperation with the HSE division

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* You have already executed lump sum turnkey projects successfully.
* Knowledge of British standards such as CDM regulations etc.
* Very strong structured, solution oriented and goal oriented approach, strong communication and negotiations skills with all parties

* Strong team leadership

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Master's Degree in an engineering discipline like mechanical, civil or electrical
* Approx. 15 years' experience in project management especially lump sum turnkey execution.
* Civil design experience
