The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Pre-PS team draws inputs and facilitates discussions to deliver an aligned delivery plan from Marketing, Design and APC functions. To support this exciting, ground breaking role, it is beneficial for someone to be, innovative and creative and have competitor knowledge, financial awareness and strong programme management skills

This role will offer the successful candidate:- An opportunity to help define SVO future products and business direction. A level of responsibility, autonomy and exposure to senior leadership. Insight into the SVO business, how it operates, makes decisions and interacts with the core business. An opportunity to make a positive contribution to the SVO business. There is a strong element of team work required across the SVO organisation and with a wider set of stakeholders in core functions to develop and deliver product strategy. The SVO Pre-PS team wishes to recruit talented and enthusiastic individuals with the appropriate skills to act as a focus for this activity. It would be beneficial for candidates to have an interest in the automotive industry, an awareness of the brands, excellent people skills plus strong analytical and presentation skills.

Skills Preferred:
The Programme Planner is responsible for coordinating and managing a portfolio of SVO Pre projects from concept through the key , and gateways including:- Working with Marketing, to develop the concept rationale and the supporting case for it within the product portfolio. Working with a cross functional team to develop the appropriate programme content to meet customer, technical, attribute and financial requirements. Leading Programme Steering team meetings and representing Programme in other related meeting (Timing, Design, Technical reviews etc) Support the compilation of the business case for the programme in support of overall business planning objectives. Leading the cross functional alignment process including co-ordination of the activities of APC (Advanced Engineering, Attribute teams, Quality, Manufacturing, etc), Marketing and Design functions. Monitoring and managing programme status and progress against key metrics and Deliverables using -PCDS principles. Preparing and presenting gateway and programme status papers for senior review. Supporting cycle plan development, studies into new opportunities & technologies and development of cross-carline implementation strategies.

Experience Required:
"experience of programme management and/or strategic planning and with a good technical understanding of the whole vehicle. An Engineering or related qualification is expected, degree level preferred. Will have some experience of leading projects including financial content, have excellent written and verbal communication capabilities and be ready to collaborate with a broad set of stake-holders. Will be comfortable working in a broad organisation and influencing key personnel who are not direct reports. An excellent network and relationship builder. Prepared to question where appropriate and challenge the established wisdom bringing a `fresh eyes' approach. Familiar with business protocols and able to handle sensitive and secret information with due regard. Highly enthusiastic and confident, expect to achieve goals with minimal supervision. An interest in and a demonstrable breadth of knowledge of the automotive industry, with an awareness of markets, brands and customer needs particularly those relevant to SVO. Should have some understanding of how economic, technological and political factors influence. Ability to analyse data and present conclusions using Excel and PowerPoint etc. Knowledge of PCDS toolset including iPLM/Programme Central "

Experience Preferred:
"Experience of working in a similar or technical role within the automotive industry, with demonstrable track record of delivery. It is anticipated candidates will be educated to Degree Level, or HNC/ HND with significant experience. "

Additional Information :
Candidates must be flexible, and capable of, supporting business activities at other sites, although the role will be Gaydon based.
