The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
In your position as a Programme Quality Engineer you will be responsible for new programme and model year Quality activity and will report to the Platform Quality Manager. You will act as the point of contact for the Programme team, and as the team's expert in quality processes and deliverables. The position requires a high level of interaction with the Programme team, the Vehicle Engineering Manager, the CoC Project Leaders, AME, NML and Quality Operations.

Act as `Voice of the Customer’ on new model programmes.
Support JD Power activities by organising competitor vehicles and design representatives to identify opportunities in design and attributes to improve customer satisfaction. Track opportunities for improvement and report out at Quality Level 2 meetings.
Using the Kano process, to define Failure Mode Avoidance requirements for new model programmes resolve known customer quality issues and achieve targeted levels of customer satisfaction
Project lead new model programme Failure Mode Avoidance activities to identify failure modes and effective counter-measures to improve quality and customer satisfaction.
Report the Quality status at the relevant new model programme forums to the Vehicle Programme Directors, Vehicle Engineering Managers, Programme Managers and Programme Teams.
Lead the Campaign Prevention activities on the programme, by organising virtual and physical Fresh Eyes reviews on computer generated or prototype vehicles and tracking issues raised through to resolution.
Project Manage the completion of the Quality Standards Manual by working closely with Perceived Quality, Vehicle Engineering, ETO, Quality Operations and agreeing sign off from the Quality director, Plant director, Vehicle Line Director, Vehicle Programme director.
Drive and support best practice and process improvements to increase customer satisfaction and deliver products more efficiently including auditing the robustness of key processes on new model programmes.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:
3 Key Skills:
1) A knowledge and understanding of Quality methods, tools and techniques -FMEA, Verification testing, Robustness techniques, Problem solving tools
2) Good project management skills required Effective Relationships - Foster positive relationships with cross-functional teams and all levels
3) Good presentation skills to represent Quality Engineering at senior level meetings

Experience in Process improvement and Development
Interest in the automotive industry, competitors, markets and technologies
A high level of analytical ability to identify customer issues in order to proactively influence in the programme
Good negotiation and influencing ability
Good project management skills required
The ability to self-manage multiple programmes
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
A knowledge and understanding of Quality methods, tools and techniques
Good presentation skills to represent Quality Engineering at senior level meetings
Good written and verbal communication skills to enable communication across all levels of the business
