The Company:
A major Oil and Gas Operator is seeking a Project Accountant to work on a World Scale Project

The Role:
Job Description:
As a member of the Downstream Business Team, this position will provide accounting support and analytical services through Phase 4.
Key Job Responsibilities:
• Develops accounting records in compliance with financial policies and procedures
•Processes Invoices and AWO's and ensures compliance with terms of contracts, proper tax treatment, and proper support documentation
•Ensures that all project related accounting transactions are recorded accurately and reconciles accounts as required
• Co-ordinate, monitor and review Downstream eProcurement and SAP processes as they relate to 3rd Party Contracts
• Analyzes project costs on a monthly basis (monitoring spend levels against contracts, performing validation of project cost coding, providing explanations for monthly variances, etc.)
• Runs / Creates ad hoc reports and utilizes standard SAP reporting functionality for project reporting as required
•Ensures integrity of account codes and related cost distribution
•Generates spend status reports for Contract/AWO sponsors
• Possesses an above-average understanding of the Manual of Compliance topics enabling the identification of non-compliance practices
•Aware of and ensures compliance with FCPA and other laws / regulations
•Ability and willingness to serve as a SOX Assessor for multiple SOX controls
• Co-ordinate, monitor and review Downstream Compliance training and reporting for Houston personnel

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Preferred Skills:
•Prior Experience working on processes and systems is a plus
•Systems aptitude - Demonstrated high level understanding of financial systems such as SAP, JDE, and Ariba
•Able to lead systems implementations as required FINANCIAL ANALYSIS and REPORTING
•Ability to work with details and grasp the big picture to enable meaningful and dynamic financial reporting and controls to be maintained
•Assistance with data validation and JDE/E1 coding for intercompany Billing Support Packages, as well as reconciliations between JDE/SAP and Cost Manager

INVOICE/AWO CONTROLS and REPORTING:
•Strong skills required
•Invoice and AWO logging, tracking and validation against contract terms
•Process Ariba work requests and system vendor requests, as necessary
•Ensures proper approvals and payments, and resolves system issues as they arise
•Provides up to date expenditure details to Cost Controls team for VOWD reporting
