The Company:
With operations across the world, our client uses innovation and technology to deliver energy to a growing world. They are currently leading an integrated LNG Project in PNG that includes gas production and processing facilities including liquefaction and storage facilities.

The Role:
A Project Accountant is required for a contract role to be based in Brisbane. The Project Accountant will provide Project Accounting support to the Finance Manager and will have significant interface with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor Finance and other staff.

Specifically you will:

• Liaise with the EPC Contractor Tax Manager and review / analyse all tax charges to ensure the costs are reimbursable under the contract. Working on the EPC contract and various expatriate assignment terms and conditions, and the labour database to perform checks on taxable personal income. Responsible for performing final reconciliation of taxes incurred and billed as well as of final actual hypothetical tax versus estimated hypothetical tax reimbursed to the Company (Client) on an on-going basis. Performing reconciliation of FBT, PAYG and other Australian and PNG individual taxes.

• Work on the EPC contract close-out. Duties will involve closely working with the contractor and Company Project Management Team to close-out all major subcontracts and purchase orders with the EPC contractor. The responsibility will include ensuring all contractual requirements have been met for all purchase orders and subcontracts before making the final payment. Also, assist with other contract close-out activity, such as, fixed asset records, GST and export/import duties compliance, etc.

• Assist with verification of third party reimbursable costs under the EPC contract. Monthly invoice consists of charges against the purchase orders, subcontracts, and travel charges for the expatriates working in PNG on a rotation basis. Verification performed on a 100% basis and requires grasping the payment structure and the basis for all major purchase orders and subcontracts and identifying duplicate and non-reimbursable charges.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
You will have Bachelors in Accounting / Finance and demonstrated experience with EPC Contracts project accounting experience and will have the ability to work with multiple project groups and disciplines.

Advanced in Excel, you will ideally have SAP and a Microsoft Access experience.
