The Company:
Our client is global operator in the Oil & Gas industry

The Role:
This position works closely with the Project Management Team (PMT) as well as Groupement Berkine (GB) Finance and operations to monitor, track and report all El Merk project costs

• Invoices, Payments & Ledger Control

o Log and monitor all invoices associated with the main project contractors as well as other vendors paid in foreign currencies
o Verify value of D10’s for Material and Equipment invoices
o Track invoice progress in Oracle and through the Finance Department.
o Issue weekly/monthly invoice status reports
o Analyze accounting activity to ensure correct booking/coding of invoices and identify any incorrect entries
o Work with Finance to correct mistakes found
o Follow up invoice payments and advise vendors accordingly.
o Track payments by contract article and reconcile with Citibank
o Audit foreign exchange calculations booked to the project
o Assist tax/accounts payable/treasury/costs and budgets as needed
o Answer vendor queries regarding payment status.

• Accruals
o Prepare monthly accruals for all contracts
o Analyze actual to forecast variances

• Chargeback statements
o Obtain required documentation, prepare and obtain vendor approval for all charge backs
o Maintain register listing all statements

• Cash Call
o Receive and analyze PMT cash call request.
o Maintain cash call control sheets for all currency commitments.
o Work with GB Treasury to prepare partner cash call.

• Monthly Cost Reports
o Prepare Project Management cost summary and enter into BCCS.
o Prepare Project Support cost summary and enter into BCCS.
o In general for all in-country contracts prepare, in conjunction with Engineer, cost summary and enter into BCCS.

• Contract amendments
o Assist in the analysis of cost impact
o Assist in the bank domiciliation process

• Advance bank guarantees
o Review/reconcile vendors’ requests for drawdown and prepare required documentation

• AFE’s
o Prepare AFE close out reports for construction AFE’s.
o Prepare status report on close out of AFE’s.
o Assist Finance Department in setting up any new construction AFE’s.
o Assist Block 208 Team with AFE queries.

• Other reports
o Calculate and report Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the project
o Provide input for the GB El Merk Project Monthly Report
o Update Sonatrach monthly report
o Taxes paid

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• At least 7 years cost/accounting experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Degree qualified in Accounting or related discipline.
• Charter membership preferred
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with emphasis in Excel.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact and use influencing skills effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to produce results under tight deadlines.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Bi-lingual English/French an advantage
