The Role:
The Project Planner / Scheduler will have responsibility for developing, and reporting against, the full project plan for multiple projects and modifications.

The Project Planner / Scheduler is a member of the integrated North Sea Activity Planning team reporting into the functional planning team lead for engineering services. They will support the Projects & Modifications Programme Leads and SPA (single point of accountability) in the delivery of the project plan in line with the regional process for planning and scheduling.

Projects & Modifications are part of the North Sea Operations function and are responsible for the delivery of Category C projects (typically projects up to $15M) for the North Sea (UK) assets. Projects are delivered in compliance with both the
standard project process and the North Sea activity planning (AP) process.

The Project Planner / Scheduler is responsible for the development of the project Plan at all stages from Scope Identification through to the execution of the project scope. The Project Planner / Scheduler will be expected to develop and maintain the Project plan including key milestones, engineering, procurement & construction phases. A key element of this development is the integration of the project plan with main engineering contractor’s engineering and construction plans.

The scheduler should have a strong practical background with experience of Project Planning to allow them to identify issues, errors, and opportunities for optimisation. Capability to “own” the complete planning process is vital and the ideal candidate will have strong influencing skills to ensure other personnel support their needs: this may include participating in offshore constructability sessions. Management capability and practical knowledge should be coupled with a strong technical understanding of Primavera (Primavera 6) to allow management of a large scale integrated plan. Strong organisational & prioritisation skills are essential.



Key Responsibilities:

-Drive the project planning process from plan build, integration, refinement, communication in line with the Category C, CVP project process and AP scheduling process with the RPU Primavera System.
-Generate high quality project schedules
oLiaise with functional SPAs and build project milestones and activities into functional schedules
oBreak down projects into discrete Planning Level 1, 2 and 3 activities
oImplement planning process consistent with the project process and Activity Planning process
oConfirm functional gate readiness of all CAP activities and work with SPAs to ensure that they understand their obligations
oAccountable for resource levelling all functional activities in the 8Q timeframe
oSupport SPAs in submitting schedule waivers
oOwn and improve the job plan data for functional activities
oLiaise with contractor planning teams to ensure alignment of company and Contractor Plans and Schedules
oConduct threat to delivery / schedule risk assessment & take ownership of actions.
oFacilitate the preparation of contingency plans
-Support Functional 8Q and 12 week Planning meetings
oIdentify functional activities that risk delivery of the plan
oCommunicate the agreed 8Q and 12 week schedule to all functional team members
oChair project planning (regular and review) meetings.
-Drive functional planning performance
oReview Planning KPI performance with the functional leadership team and propose improvement actions
oProgress pre- and post-execution activities in Primavera on a weekly basis
oHighlight slippage in the schedule and propose actions to recover
-Contribute the Lessons Learnt process.
