The Role:
Position Summary
This position reports to the Midstream Project Commercial Manager and supports the development and operational launch of a stand-alone entity for midstream assets. The role leads projects to identify, assess, and capture business development options and negotiate the appropriate contractual framework to optimize the transaction value and assure the ongoing operation and growth of the midstream entity. The role is accountable for ensuring collaboration and alignment with Corporate Tax, Legal, Finance teams and the E&P Onshore Production and Strategy, Commercial, New Business Development organizations. The role also supports the assessment of product markets and competitor activity, and implements and optimizes the required gathering and export contractual agreements.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Screen and evaluate growth transaction options and select and capture optimal transactions.
• Development and implement strategies and tactics for successfully negotiating commercial agreements; i.e. production gathering, transportation & processing contracts.
• Monitor and evaluate competitor’s midstream activity and derive competitive insights.
• Develop and maintain local and regional market knowledge for oil & gas products

Roles and Responsibilities
• Analyze market and export issues in support of the creation and development of export strategies for the Bakken development projects, and North Dakota producing assets.
• Analyze and consolidate local and regional issues in support of the development of market studies for oil and gas products.
• Analyze and benchmark of opportunities versus competing sources of supply and alternative transport options.
• Development and implement of strategies and tactics for successfully negotiating commercial agreements; i.e. production gathering, transportation & processing contracts.
• Support commercial discussions for operated production with working interest owners and third-party service providers.
• Develop commercial inputs and deliverables for Value Navigator stages and recommendation packs.
• Lead the framing of economic evaluations, the identification of embedded options, risks, and mitigations.
• Develop and run economic models to support commercial decisions and negotiations.
• Foster and maintain relationships with commercial, producing, and exploration counterparts both within the company and with external parties. Position “Midstream Commercial” as an integral contributing member of the client asset teams

Experience and Education
• Experience in multiple producing basins, export systems, and fiscal regimes preferred.
• Business or Technical Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of 10 years in Oil and Gas industry preferred.
