The Role:
To provide commercial support to the project teams. Ensure that commercial discipline is maintained throughout all project delivery phases. The role will also involve providing guidance and fostering the development of all project staff on commercial issues. Working with clients, consortium partners and supply chain on effective administration of contract

The Quantity Surveyor will:-
Understand the contractual requirements of project documents including the roles and responsibilities of all involved and the notices required to record change etc.
Develop a strategy for the defense/application of contractual claims. Reporting
The Quantity Surveyor will establish and Maintain cost/valuation/reporting/contract administration procedures
Negotiation and settlement of claims and final accounts/maintain a means of contractual understanding within Project Teams.

The Quantity Surveyor will promote an effective change management, controls and COPQ regime to include training across different business streams
Effective contract administration regime to minimise risk
Sell commercial concepts and ideas across the management spectrum to gain buy in

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The Quantity Surveyor will have a recognised qualification to at least HNC standard, preferably to MRICS or equivalent.
Minimum of 7 years experience of Quantity Surveying in Power Distribution, Utilities or M&E
Experience of NEC3, FIDIC and interpreting client adapted forms of standard forms of contract.
Experience of successfully defending and compiling large and complicated claims
Experience in monthly cost/value reporting and cash flow management both with clients and supply chain.
Experience in preparation and presentation of compensation events and claims.
Computer literacy – Minimum Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Experience of collaborative working and strong communication skills.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience in the Electricity Supply Industry (or similar client base with projects incorporating electrical engineering scope).
Primavera / Microsoft Project
SAP or similar project/commercial management tools such as COINS, AXIM or the like
Experience of making presentations to groups utilising presentation tools such as power point.
