The Company:
Our client, a golbally renowned Oil & Gas Operating company are looking to recruit a Project Controls Lead for a long term contract position based in the South East

The Role:
Lead pre-project and post sanction project controls activities for the Project. The Project Controls Manager is responsible for all aspects of the cost and planning, monitoring and administration of the assigned Capital Project and requires the monitoring of actual costs and scheduled progress activities against the project planned, approved expenditure budgets and AFEs, through all stages of the project.

The Project Services Manager is responsible for developing implementing and maintaining key Project Services/Controls processes, procedures and management systems in compliance with the ConocoPhillips Capital Projects Management System (CPMS) standards and procedures and in working with the Project Manager to ensure that the project is conducted in accordance with CPMS.

The role also includes the responsibility for processing and summarising measurable data and communicating appropriate information to all key parties and stakeholders in a timely manner. In conjunction with Corporate Procurement the incumbent will implement, manage and administer the contracts and procurement strategy for the project. The incumbent will be responsible for the project document control and records management in compliance with corporate direction.

The Project Controls Manager handles personnel responsibilities, sets team goals and targets and coaches team members to achieve significant results. The incumbent is an active and visible role model, always acting in accordance with ConocoPhillips’ “SPIRIT” values, and motivates and promotes good communications and relations within a positive work environment.

Enabling the project to be completed on time and within budget by providing tight cost, and schedule controls, allowing early identification of deviations and risks to permit timely mitigation measures to be implemented.

Primary Functions:

Manages, supervises organises and controls the activities of the Project Services Team, including disciplines from Budgeting, Cost Accounting, Cost Control, Audit, Systems, Planning/scheduling, Risk Management, Document Control, Reporting and related project service activities.

Contributes to the Project Execution Plan development.
Develops project services/controls execution strategies.
Exercises oversight of and interfaces with EPC Contractor(s) project services/controls activities.
Prepares high level and detailed annual and total budgets for all phases of the project life cycle.
Ensures the detailed monitoring and regular analysis of the Project Management AFE, budget, actual and forecast expenditur

Critical Skills:

Proactive management and collaborative leadership skills. Highly developed inter-personnel skills to deal effectively with direct reports, peers, partners and contractors.
