The Company:
Our Client is one of the world's largest Oil and Gas companies. Their operations cover the entire energy chain, including oil exploration and production to trading, shipping and refining and marketing of petroleum products, as well as chemicals. Our Client has operations in over 130 countries and has more than 95,000 employees worldwide.

The Role:
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
• Act as first point of contact for the Project Team to provide necessary support on Project Controls matters.
• Analyse actual costs and forecast expenditure and provide details on variances between budget and previous forecast.
• Prepare and monitor budget in conjunction with budget holder.
• Responsible for AFE control and reporting.
• Prepare timely and accurate cost reporting for both internal and external clients.
• Regularly forecast expenditure against budget, highlighting anomalies, whilst helping promote cost consciousness amongst budget holders.
• Progress invoice approval with technical and financial authorities.
• Ensure correct coding is applied to all cost commitments.
• Prepare cost reports (budgets, forecasts, expenditures, commitments).
• Be responsible for contractual/commercial administration of all contracts for the Project.
• Ensure all contracting activities meet audit requirements in compliance with Company policies and procedures and UK/EU legislation.
• Ensure that all project activities are correctly planned and performed throughout the whole project duration in accordance with the initial plan.
• Review and, where appropriate, endorse schedule, progress and forecast prepared by contractors.
• Prepare reports in accordance with the Company/Project Requirements.
• Any other duties as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Law, Business Administration, Commercial or Engineering.
• Appropriate oil and gas industry experience, preferably in Project Environment.
• Analytical skills with a knowledge of financial analysis techniques and economic measures.
• Detailed understanding of costing.
• Experience and knowledge of high value/risk contracts.
• Understanding of commercial, insurance and legal issues affecting the Company.
• Computer literate (mainly Excel), with experience of SAP.
• Focused on delivering added value with ability to prioritise effectively and willingness to challenge.
• General understanding of Company’s business functions.
• Adaptability to changing priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
