The Company:
Our client is a major Owner/Operator in Canada with headquarters in Calgary, AB. They are one of Canada’s largest producers of Crude Oil and Natural Gas as well as Canada’s largest refiner. Most of their Canadian projects are located in Northern Alberta’s Oil Sands.

The rotation is 14/7.

The Role:
The responsibilities of the Project Controls Analyst include:

• Review and prepare forecast, contract modifications and Project Deviation Notices (PDNs) for various contracts
• Develop sections of the stewardship report (forecasts, opportunities/vulnerabilities, expenditures/commitments)
• Analyze cost and schedule trends, develop and review cost and schedule forecasts
• Monitoring the performance of contractors in the areas of cost, progress and schedule control
• Assist site management in developing/reviewing cost and schedule corrective actions and recovery plans, and making sure needed actions/plans are implemented
• Support Contractors’ accruals, Construction Site Instruction (CSIs) and the review of bi-weekly progress reports
• Participate in daily progress meetings, weekly trend meetings, weekly Site Wide Services (SWS) meetings and provide feedback on pending items with Company construction team
• Provide the free issue consumption plan updates
• Process site Change Orders (COs) and interface between home office and the site teams to ensure compliance with process and documentation. Ensure CO complies with contractual requirements as well as established controls, policies, and procedures specific to the project.
• Perform routine attests of Contractors’ subcontracting processes including contract modifications
• Assist the Construction Leads/Coordinators in preparing and estimating Work Orders
• Review contract scopes and commercial terms to forecast any changes, savings or improvements
• Participate in the site Leadership meetings and develop future action plans
• Attests on SWS to make sure their processes and documentation in place and functioning
• Develop and review camp forecasting, utilization and contracting strategies
• Work with Contractor to resolve SWS issues
• Manage site contract close-out activities
