The Role:
Perform Project Control activities for a Project Team co-located within a Strategic Engineering contractor’s office based in Leatherhead, Surrey. This post is part of a multi-skilled team and the post holder will report to the Project Controls Team Leader and will work within a small team of company staff and contractors providing direct support to the project team as well as the Project Controls Team.
The post holder will require a high level of competence in Microsoft Office packages, including Access; Excel; Word; PowerPoint; and SharePoint. Good communication and organisational skills are required. SAP experience is preferred but not essential. The post holder will be expected to manage and prioritise their own workload.
Main Duties
- Coordinate the preparation of the Monthly Project Status Reporting Package, General Manager Updates and other management summaries.
- Assist in the implementation of Kildrummy CostManager (KCM), administer and maintain Project Cost Control systems to track project costs against approved project budgets, forecasts and commitments.
- Assist in the development of tools and processes to streamline all project controls functions for the project
- Maintain project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for Cost Control and Reporting.
- Assist the Cost Controller for reporting Project Cost variances against budgets, commitments and forecast.
- Assist in the Cost Controller in the preparation of Approval for Expenditure (AFEs) or (GO-36) for the Project.
- Assist the Cost Controller in facilitating monthly cost review meetings with Project Discipline Leads.
- Assist the Cost Controller for reporting project expenditures, commitments, and forecasts against budgets.
- Assist the Project Accountant in the calculation of Monthly Value of Work Done and accruals for project expenditures.
- Assist the Cost Controller responsible for maintaining and coordinating the project Time-Writing processes for the project by liaising with Project Team Members, Project Accountant and Time Writing Analyst.
- Assist the Cost Controller responsible for maintaining and coordinating affiliate Work Order (GO-36) Process and Register for the Project. To include the tracking of expenditures and reporting.
- Assist the Cost Controller responsible for maintaining and coordinating staffing and manpower assumptions for input into Project Cost Budgets and Forecasts – working collaboratively with Project Team to collate, input and report.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experienced in working collaboratively in a Project environment and communicating with other functional Departments within a large Company
Experienced in working in a team environment as well as independently.
Demonstrated ability in working to tight deadlines.
Strong knowledge of MS Access, moderate cost control, cost allocations, variance analysis, forecast and budgeting.
Experienced in Work Breakdown Structure (SAP) - preferred but not essential
Ability to communicate clearly and in a timely manner to keep Company personnel abreast of ongoing operations. Proven ability to adapt to a changing environment and changing methods of working.
-Ability to work flexibly with the other members of the project team.
-Ability to organise and prioritise own workload and meet tight deadlines.
-Must be able to multi task and deal with regular interruptions.
-Ability to deal with sensitive issues and challenging situations.
-Problem solving skills.
-Self motivated.
