The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

The Role:
To provide Project Controls support to the North America Onshore Projects varying in size and schedule.

This includes providing consistent support in the areas of Cost Control, Planning, Scheduling, Progress Measurement, Monthly Status Reporting and Management of Change. Project Controls support to be provided to all phases of project delivery process from Identify & Assess to Operate. This will also include some involvement with Benchmarking, Project Assurance and Cost and Schedule Risk and Probabilistic modelling.

- Reports to the Project Controls Manager.
- Participate in different phases of a project development from feasibility to start-up
- Establish the project control basis for the project and perform baseline updates according to Company requirements
- Establish and maintain system for scheduling, progress measurements and quantity control
- Implement Company’s system for project control including change management, risk management, contract and cost control and quality management in accordance with working requirements
- Participate in contract preparations and evaluations with focus on project controls requirements.
- Compile and issue Monthly reports
- Benchmarking of Cost & Schedule
- Ensure contractors are in compliance with Company Project Control requirements with smooth flow of reporting from contractors to Company Management systems.
- Conduct quality audits for the project on a regular basis and follow-up the actions.
- Secure estimating of projects in corporation with in house estimating group and contractors
- Close-out of contracts and relevant project close-out activities
- Secure experience transfer from projects
- Establish and maintain Risk register for modification projects.
- Establish support documentation for Decision Gates process.
- Position will require short/ long term assignment on Project sites based on the project needs

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Required to have 7-15 years cost & planning experience on oil and gas projects. Candidate is expected to have solid hands-on experience working in Primavera P6 and cost management tools.
- Excellent communications skills, change management, and stakeholder engagement skills are considered as assets. Should be a self-starter and expected to work independently on one or more medium sized projects to provide project controls services to the project(s). Working knowledge of PRISM PM would be advantageous.
- Significant technical knowledge and skills in the Project Services disciplines and associated areas of activity e.g. Contracting & Procurement.
- Strong knowledge of the overall project process and steps (e.g. ORP, OPMG, Governance and Assurance, execution strategy). d) Project execution practical experience (e.g. engineering, controls, C&P, construction).
- Proven interpersonal and relationships skills in complex environments.
