The Company:
Our client operates in the oil and gas sector.

The Role:
Job Purpose:
Responsibility for planning, cost management, risk & change management, estimating, IM & DCC and Project Controls Systems for the project.
To manage staff of the Project Controls/Services group to ensure effective support to the project’s needs for Integrated Project Controls.
Takes responsibility for the production of responsive and reliable performance analysis, management project and status reports on the project.

To operate and maintain detailed systems and written procedures for the project that will satisfy the requirements of quality accreditation and periodic audits.
To direct the activities of the group in accordance with approved project or other plans and within prescribed budgets and staff levels.
To organise and motivate staff to perform assigned roles.
To manage the following disciplines for the life of the project – contracts, cost, planning, document control, IT, and quality /verification.
To be an expert and hands-on user in at least one of the disciplines above (project team is small and PCM will be expected to function in a direct role as well as manage the rest of the team)
To sit on the senior management team of the project
To collate and publish the weekly and monthly reports
Initiate the development and use of improved tools and methods for JV project administration and control.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline

Highly conversant in both planning and cost engineering methodologies or contracts
Experience of industry standard project controls systems such as Primavera, Artemis, or MS Project is essential.
Experience of Cost Management tools is also desirable e.g. Kildrummy, PRISM
Fluent in Excel, word, powerpoint etc
Good team player, effective manager,
10 years experience in planning, cost or estimating with at least 5 years spent in a similar role.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Membership of a professional body such as APM or ACostE is desirable.
Excellent verbal, written and aural communication skills
Able to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to work on own initiative
Takes a proactive approach
Ability to take responsibility and manage tasks through to completion
React quickly & flexible to changing circumstances
Use initiative to ensure issues are overcome
Seek ways to find and apply best practice
Adopt a pragmatic, fit for purpose approach
Open, honest & reliable.
