The Company:
Our client is a nuclear specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, across the complete lifecycle from New Build, through Operations and Maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste disposal.

The Role:
Provide client performance data and reports as required
Undertake regular Project Control Audits
Prepare and maintain a resource requirement forecast for the regional area and discuss regularly with the Manager of Project Controls
Propose Project Control Process Improvements
Approve Compensation Event quotation programmes for all projects in the region prior to issue to the client
Contribute to Pre-Qualification and Invitation to Tender question responses as required by the Manager of Project Controls
Hold regular team meetings with the Project Controls regional staff
Allocate staff to projects to maximise recoverable work
Liaise with directors in the region to establish strategic direction and ensure
Mentor Junior Planners
Recommend delivery and sequencing strategies to the Project Manager based on project knowledge
Review and shortlist cvs for vacancies
Draft programmes in conjunction with the Project team for approval by the Project Manager
Discuss & agree resources and timescales with the Project Manager
Ensure all activities within the Project scope of work are included in programmes
Gather information from design team, subcontractors, client for progress reporting purposes
Regularly update the project resource plan and discuss peaks and troughs with the Project Manager
Operate change control in line with the Project contract requirements
Demonstrate a calm and methodical approach to working to deadlines
Excellent organisation mindset. Has ability and confidence in organising many intangibles concurrently.
Thorough, analytical, seeks detail in areas of conflict/disagreement or uncertainty
Needs little direction from the Manager of Project Controls
Proactively seeks out information from the regional management team and other stakeholders to inform the service
Good communication skills. Need to clearly explain to many different stakeholder using facts and detail.
Enjoys dealing with several different task, people, objectives at the same time

Planning specialist, with a good working knowledge of cost management, risk management and change control
Experience of managing staff is essential
Experience of working within a project delivery environment is essential
Full knowledge of the Project Lifecycle is essential
Team fit
Logical understanding of Design and Construct process
Past relevant project planning experience
Ability to work with tight deadlines / pressure
Commitment to industry & company

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum HND or equivalent level of qualification is required
PC literate in Microsoft Office suite
Knowledge of using Project Planning software (Primavera) is required.
Ideally, a depth of experience will have been gained within a construction industry incorporating at least either civil, electrical or mechanical engineering discipline

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Preferably degree qualified in technical/engineering or project management discipline though not essential
Knowledge of using Project Planning software (Primavera) is required.
SC or DV level security clearance is preferred though not essential, but all candidates should be eligible for DV clearance.
