The Company:
Our client is a global operator in the oil and gas sector.

The Role:
Plan, resource, organize and lead the Project Control activities throughout the project lifecycle in accordance with corporate best practices. Support the project through the management of the project team in the development and completion of project activities including plans, evaluations, reports and other related project documentation.

Accountabilities and End Results:
Apply appropriate and fit for purpose scheduling, commercial, cost management and reporting resources, tools and techniques to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget or better.

Primary Functions:
• Directs contractor for Company requirements for planning & cost control & reporting
• Develop and implement a Project Information Management System consistent with our client and our client's UK based Management Philosophy
• Implement effective project controls systems that provide project and business management with forward looking information of a quality that provides a sound basis for decision making
• Develop and maintain an overall Project Master Schedule in Primavera including resource, trend and progress analysis and reporting.
• Ensure that our client's UK based project control system requirements are incorporated into all contracts.
• Monitor and audit Contractor schedules and Cost Estimates, completion assessments and reporting to ensure accuracy and realism.
• Maintain the project risk management system, arrange and manage periodic cost and schedule risk assessments
• Develop project WBS, CBS, cost estimating, cost forecasting, cost control, trend and cost reporting systems in line with our client and corporate requirements.
• Provide and coordinate project audit and review.
• Develop and own the project document and data management plan.
• Provide project management reporting.
• Develop and own project communication plan
• Interface with our client and Corporate functions including but not limited to Financial, Insurance and Legal.
• Primary interface with contractor’s Project Controls function.

Position Based:
London Area with frequent visits to North West UK. Start – August 2011

• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Prepared to champion change.
• Demonstrated core value integrity.
• Strong commercial acumen supported with good written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly developed influencing and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiastic with a questioning and challenging attitude.
• Possesses strong planning and organisation competency.
• Proven ability to make rational decisions when under pressure.
• Ability to build strong relationships and interface effectively with numerous project stakeholders concurrently.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Preferred Requirements:
• Educated to degree level.
• Sound business background including experience in contracts, finance and planning
• Supervisory experience
• Experience of FEED & EPC contracts
• Experience of working as part of a managerial team.
• Working knowledge of Primavera and SAP.
