The Company:
The client is a privately owned consultancy, providing professional services and expert cost and project control capabilities for the delivery of major international programmes. The company is now managing a portfolio of global engineering programmes in excess of £4billion per year. These projects cross both private and public sector clients across the energy transmission, power generation, water, defence, aerospace and transport sectors from our offices in the UK, and abroad.

The Role:
The Project Controls Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing Project Control Management plans, creating/maintaining schedules with real project status against baseline/performance, identifying/monitoring critical path and creating templates for your project. As Project Controls Manager your responsibilities will also involve mentoring, developing and managing a team to ensure focused and up to date delivery capability.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The ideal Project Controls Manager candidate will have:
• 5 years’ experience of operating as a professional project controls manager with substantial expertise in the execution and delivery of major projects in the oil and gas or defence industry
• Knowledge of principal multi-discipline codes of practice and standards
• Sound knowledge of statutory documentation relating to project controls management
• Solid grasp of multi-discipline project practices and techniques
• Demonstrable skill in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting of projects
• A degree level qualification in a related area
• A sound understanding of the principles and philosophy behind project management ideally with a project management qualification
• A background in leading and managing teams, including the performance of individuals
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• A through understanding of Primavera P6 is essential
