The Company:
Our client is a global leader in end-to-end outsourced engineering, asset management and maintenance services with a diversified end-market exposure across core sectors of rail, transport & technology systems, power, resources, water and defence. As a company they are partners with some of the world’s largest blue-chip companies, government agencies, private enterprise and public institutions.

The Role:
We are currently looking for an experienced Project Controls Manager to be involved in a large and complex LNG construction project. The ideal candidate will have significant exposure to working on major construction projects within the resources and power sector and come from a contractor background. The role requires someone who has developed their career from cost engineering through to overall project controls.

This role will ideally be residentially based in Darwin however can be based on a FIFO basis on an 11/3 rotation.

The role will see you responsible for the following:
• All aspect of Project Controls for the project: cost engineering, planning and scheduling, and risk management
• The quality and timeliness of cost estimates, budgets, financial reports, and schedules.
• Direct input to proposals, strategic plans, client presentations, and contract negotiations.
• Leadership, direction, supervision and inspirational management to all team members (direct & indirect).
• Oversee all aspects of financial management including budgets, forecasts and evaluations.
• For discipline operating plans and discipline performance within the business unit.
• Performs audits to ensure the quality of estimating, cost engineering, and planning/scheduling functions.
• Plan, direct and control the commercial management of Projects
• Manage and report on programme performance
• Participates in Project Controls Working Group activities

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years’ Project Controls (cost background) experience working within a contractor environment on Australian projects
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related field is required.
• Experienced in leading a project controls team and driving results
• Experience of working on construction megaprojects would also be looked upon favourably.
• Ability to deliver to meet overall business and project goals
• Experience of implementing rigorous project controls procedures
• Prior experience providing direct input to strategic plans, client presentations and contract negotiations
• Strong communication skills at all levels including presenting, negotiating and client management skills
• Ability to work with a high level of autonomy to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast paced environment with multiple and competing demands
