The Role:
Establish and maintain definitive project cost control systems in concert to estimates and budgets, payment schedules, risk management reports, forecasting, earned value analysis and documentation for internal and external audits. Manage cost activities including development and implementation of cost controls. Develop project cost control procedures for the FEL Phases. Prepare procedures for budget management and forecasting. Define project financial benchmarks for the duration of the project. Facilitates cost risk mitigation and contingency planning process. Migrate conceptual project estimates to definitive project control estimate. Establish and maintain cost data input to an integrated project cost and schedule system. Assure accuracy and timeliness of data collection for cost measurement. Implement project documentation and data preservation routines. Typically requires at least five years of experience. Under general direction and minimal guidance, uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes. Typically resolves complex problems or problems where precedent may not exist. Works independently acting as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

The Project Control Lead may be accountable to:
• Define and request through the Project Control Supervisor the, number, type, duration and competency level of Project Control resources needed for the project.
• Define the Project Services deliverables and accountabilities; delegate to Project Control resources and track/monitor/review/QA the completion.
• Lead Project Services resources to provide Project Services deliverables to Project Team in accordance with corporate and CPAI project management standards and procedures for:
o Cost Administration
o Planning/Scheduling
o Change Management
• Promote the use of, and provide recommendations for, process improvement of the ConocoPhillips Project Management tools:
o EPMS - SAP-PS Module
o My Workplace
o Primavera P6
o SharePoint
• Communicate to the Project Lead and Manager of Project Controls Supervisor, scope, schedule or cost risks/opportunities in a timely manner.
• Communicate to the Project Controls Supervisor variances from the approved ConocoPhillips Standards and Policies.
• Provide feedback to Project Control Supervisor on project services personnel personal performance
• Be a leader in HSE performance by communicating, fostering, supporting, and enforcing CPAI HSE policies, procedures, guidelines, requirements, and objectives.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• 7+ years Project Control experience in construction/Oil Industry Projects.
• Can use SAP, and has knowledge in Primavera/Planning and Excel.
• Willing to travel to Project site (Engineering Office, and Fabrication/Construction sites).
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Project Management or Engineering.
• Certification(s) in the project management discipline from a recognized organization (Primavera, PMI, AACE etc).
• Demonstrated interpersonal and teambuilding skills.
• Demonstrated communication skills to influence contractors to implement the ConocoPhillips Alaska Capital Projects Organization Project Management Procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to drive creativity, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment.
• Ability to balances short and long term priorities.
• Personal accountability - makes commitments and is accountable for obtaining results.
• Flexibility - able to understand and adjust to changing conditions.
• Self-motivated, team player.
