The Company:
Our client, a major Owner/Operator, is seeking a Project Controls Specialist for their project services group.

The Role:
Job Purpose:

To provide Project Controls support to the North America projects.
This includes providing consistent support in the areas of Cost Control, Planning, Scheduling, Progress Measurement, Monthly Status Reporting and Management of Change. Project Controls support to be provided to all phases of project delivery process from Identify & Assess to through turnover to Operations. This will also include some involvement with Benchmarking, Project Assurance and Cost and Schedule Risk and Probabilistics.

Principal Accountabilities:

- Implement project controls processes that are being used in Onshore Projects. This work will be done in close collaboration with the Project Manager and other project team members
- Develop Project controls plans for upcoming phases of the project.
- Coordinate the flow of project information (cost, schedule, resources, risk etc.) to the project teams and other stakeholders.
- Included in this responsibility will be analyzing the project performance data and developing effective reporting methods for communicating project performance to the various stakeholders.
- Develop project baselines and provide consistent project monthly status reporting in accordance with the standard format.
- Deliver and coordinate monthly project reporting requirements.
- Interface with major contractors and vendors to understand their project control procedures and to establish procedures for information flow from them to the project, i.e., status reports, schedule updates, etc.
- Provide contractors with direction in project cost and schedule principles and ensure key project controls deliverables are met.

Key Challenges:

- This position requires a thorough understanding of Project Controls and good familiarity and experience with Project Management techniques and practices.
- Individual will be required to guide and advise the projects team on solving controls problems from a sound Project Management base.
- Aligning contractors to comprehend and deliver the Project Controls with appropriate quality and on time. Some contractors are located remotely and visiting their offices and the construction site may be required.
- Will require getting up to speed on how multi-projects gas business functions and then providing project controls to match.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- The role requires the individual to be self sufficient in the application of Project Controls processes, systems and tools, and have the ability to select, develop and assess the application of techniques to suit the varied and challenging requirements of the Venture.
- Will work actively with various stakeholders and key interfaces. Strong communication and collaboration skills required.

Required skills:
- 8-10 years well-rounded experience with Project Controls or project engineering on major capital projects
- Ability to interact with other disciplines, stakeholders and contractors is essential
- Cost control experience, including project set-up and cost reporting
- Familiarity with cost estimates, contingencies, project forecasting, progress reporting
- Experience and proficiency in Planning/scheduling large capital projects across all phases
- Proficient in Primavera P6
- Analyze contractor and supplier schedules and roll up into master project schedule
- Effective

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Engineering / Technical degree/diploma preferred
- Project experience in Oil or Gas field and familiarity with a wide range of disciplines across engineering, geosciences, regulatory, etc. is deemed very beneficial to this position.
- Experienced in working with cost control such as PRISM PM advantageous
