The Company:
Our client, a major Oil & Gas owner/operator, is seeking expertise for their mega projects in Alberta.

RESIDENTS OF THE EDMONTON AREA WILL BE GIVEN FIRST CONSIDERATION FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY.

The Role:
This role is based at our Client's facility approximately 30km NE of Edmonton, Alberta, for an expansion project.

The Project Controls role is responsible for:

• Request schedule updates to the contractors
• Update & maintain master schedule (Primavera 6)
• Chair bi-weekly scheduling meetings with contractor
• Analysis of schedule highlighting issues & remedies to the project manager
• Create schedule level 1, 2 and 3 reports
• Review physical progress with construction coordinators and update physical progress spreadsheet (excel)
• Obtain & analyze actual (incurred costs) from SAP system reports issued by finance departments
• Track, monitor and update/maintain cost control spreadsheets (excel) for budget, actuals, commitments, earned value, estimate at completion, variances, forecast.
• Provide accruals to finance department at month end.
• Generate and review with Project Manager, monthly forecast to be issued to senior management.
• Analysis of cost, highlighting issues and remedies to the Project Manager
• Prepare/issue monthly project management report
• Ensure that the change management procedure is followed by project team and contractors
• Maintain change/construction orders, materials requisitions, and contingency releases registers.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Primavera (P6); Microsoft Excel, Projects, Word and Outlook; Adobe
• 3-5 years of directly applicable large projects controls experience
• D & A, CSTS Training
• Strong deductive reasoning skill set needed
• Self starter with ability to work independently needed
• Good organization skills needed
• Ability to assimilate complex tasks quickly and accurately
• Knowledge of capital work and project controls systems a strong plus
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel formulas and functions
• Excellent English language communication skills (verbal and written)
