The Company:
Our client, a major Owner/Operator, is seeking expertise for their projects in Alberta.

The Role:
The principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
• Develop budget breakdown from the approved GIP estimate as per WBS breakdown.
• Attend cost meetings (weekly, monthly) and leads cost reviews with key stakeholders (e.g. , Finance Manager, Project Engineers, PM).
• Ensure the cost tracking system is robust and fit for purpose, which enables the calculation of actual costs on a regular basis on all stages of the project.
• Includes assessment and determination of the appropriate involvement or use of available Cost management Tools (e.g. Access, Excel, PRISM, SAP, Primavera, etc…).
• Ensures processes are in place to calculate required forecasting for input to the Management Reporting.
• Coordinates with applicable client focal points (e.g. Logistics Coordinator, Project Engineers, Major Vendor Focal Points).
• Ensures the LE (Latest Estimate) is updated on a monthly basis.
• Ensures expectations regarding the reporting of cost information are established with applicable vendors.
• Creates and communicates management reporting. Reporting must include VOWD, Forecast, Latest Estimate (LE), Budget, contingency and variances.
• Provides timely communication of potential risks of budget over spend to management. Coordinate requests of supplemental funding if required.
• Support the Tailings and Infrastructure project controls team.
• Position Requirements: - Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full time basis for anyone other than their current employer.
• Good written and oral communications.
• Understand the project process and execution
• Knowledge of Construction Activities impacting cost & schedule
• Recognize all cost element involved during project execution
• Must be a team player.
• Knowledge of Primavera P6.

It is also important that this candidate is able to assess and incorporate the impact of approved changes and any deviations from project targets and milestones, including productivity monitoring and identification of alternate approaches to optimise the plan(s)
