The Role:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for planning the coordination and delivery of rig construction activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and in compliance with industry accepted design, HSE and Company standards. The Project Coordinator will develop detailed plans and forecasts to drive construction for new rig development. This person will be responsible for preparing forecasts and work plans, and organizing the delivery of equipment and materials to ensure that construction timelines are met. The Project Coordinator will work directly with third party contractors, management and pad crews to provide progress updates on the completion of construction work.

Key Relevant Tasks
• Provide direct input during the development phase of rig construction projects to ensure components are designed and sourced as directed by Company requirements.
• Monitor and inspect work performed by subcontractors and ensure adherence to agreement specifications.
• Work with subcontractors on changes or variations to ensure accurate documentation and application to future component builds.
• Lead the implementation of new products at suppliers.
• Prepare forecasts and work plans, and monitor the delivery of equipment and materials to ensure that construction timelines are met.
• Will have responsibility and accountability for supplier’s delivery and quality and improving these measures.
• Evaluate construction methods to determine cost effectiveness of plans and establish process to modify methods as needed to support Company objectives.
• Identify potential problems, and initiate immediate action to ensure that quality, safety and delivery targets are met within contracts and Company standards.
• Drive containment and long term corrective action of supplier issues through root cause analysis.
• Establish logical phases for all aspects of the construction process, budgeting appropriate time required to meet commitments.
• Prepare and submit weekly progress and cost tracking reports to the Company management team and other designated team members.
• Develop and implement quality control measures and processes to ensure construction work is executed in accordance with industry best practices, HSE performance and Company standards.
• Organize project construction documentation and ensure it is properly maintained for record retention purposes.
• Inspect construction site daily, identifying and addressing additional concerns as needed.
• Take appropriate action to resolve delays caused by weather conditions or emergencies that effect construction at the yard.
• Ensure that construction milestones meet with the overall project schedules and develop appropriate mitigation plans to provide support where needed.
• Drive Lean and Six Sigma principles through the supply base to improve Quality, Delivery and Cost.

Essential Job Functions
• Ability to safely navigate the yard and shop work sites with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc. during normal operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather).
• Ability to safely navigate drilling rig work sites including regular walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc. during various weather conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather).
• Lift and carry 50 pounds independently while walking on uneven surfaces.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crawl occasionally during visits to field and operational work areas.
• Clear vision to judge near and far distances to maintain awareness of, watch, and report on-going work activities to co-workers and third parties.
• Listen for unusual noises that signify equipment and or machinery problems.
• Accurate recall of information over short and long-term memory.
• Maintain spatial orientation and awareness to safely move around work environment with many moving objects including overhead machinery.
• Stay alert and focused including during occasional extended work periods.
• Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to promptly give, and follow directions when working with others.
• Physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all designated times

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Four year technical degree in related field of study (Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering, etc.)
Lean Manufacturing experience is required.
Demonstrated experience coordinating external and internal interface activities, including facilitation of information, documents, and data between management, crews, third party contractors and other parties for regulatory, safety, and environmental purposes.
Must have strong interpersonal skills including ability to interact productively and professionally with co-workers and third parties.
Must be able to commitment to a Mon-Friday work schedule with the ability to work on weekends and be on call after hours as needed.
Must have strong leadership skills and teamwork skills and experience driving process improvements.
Must be eligible to drive company vehicle and meet requirements of company vehicle use agreement and driving policy.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Solid rig build or construction industry knowledge and experience.
Manufacturing engineering or manufacturing process improvement experience is a plus.
Knowledge of motor, engine, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical control system.
Experience as a scheduler is preferable.
Ability to proficiently use MS Office Suite to develop presentations, correspondences, reports, and schedules (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project etc.).
Sound understanding of Safety Regulations, Construction Safety Practices, Company’s safe work practices, and procedures and be capable of maintaining a safe work site.
Ability to utilize multiple strategies to resolve conflict and move projects forward.
Ability to effectively communicate with project management teams, providing status updates as needed.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
