The Company:
Our client is currently engaged in the development of one of the first LNG Liquefaction and Export Facilities in the U.S.

The Role:

The Project Controls Cost Accountant is responsible for monitoring, managing, and reporting costs for a large LNG project. The Cost Accountant will provide support to Engineering &Construction organization, as well as, develop cost reporting tools and procedures as part of the Project Execution Plan. This position will primarily be located at the Cameron LNG Houston office and will include travel to Hackberry, LA for scheduled, unscheduled, periodic site visits and audits. Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) will be required.


•Ensure appropriate project controls are in place and be responsible for tracking project costs in accordance with approved Work Break Down (WBS) structure
•Ensure deliverables such as ad hoc and monthly financial reports are prepared and submitted to appropriate stakeholders
•Review invoices and ensure that Milestones and Progress Payments are in compliance with established contract terms and conditions in EPC Contract
•Work closely with
◦Procurement and accounting team for cost analysis
◦Construction & contracts management team in actualizing cost and review of Change Order cost impacts
◦IT business team along with external systems specialists for set-up and maintenance of project controls systems
◦Project Controls team in evaluation of Earned Value Measurement System
◦Team members, consultants and schedule specialists
◦External/remote accounting and financial team
•Facilitate the data collection, application and monitoring of financial and cost data
•Facilitate and conduct meetings with VP of E&C and upper management
•Develop and maintain cost reporting systems for project updates and provide data and validate information for Business Intelligence Dashboard
•Provide agenda and attend weekly/monthly project meetings and other meetings/discussions
•Provide support to other project teams as necessary
•Perform estimating and forecasting
•Prepare and submit cost reports and presentations
•Organize and maintain cost information and documentations in SharePoint

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

•Requires a bachelor’s degree Finance/Economics/Accounting or other related discipline


•Requires 5-10 years of accounting, financial modeling, budgeting, and/or cost analysis in the energy industry
•Strong background in management of projects (oil, gas, power, LNG)
•Proficient with the set up and use of Project Cost Reporting Systems (Wennsoft is a plus), Business Intelligence Tool, Great Plains and other financial and accounting software applications
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint

Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities:

•Strong management abilities with effective project management and leadership skills and excellent team player
•Possess initiative, decision-making skills and problem-solving abilities to analyze data, identify issues, recommend, develop, and implement solutions
•Strong understanding of contracts, and other service agreements languages
•Extensive knowledge in auditing best practices
