The Company:
My client is a leading supplier of high integrity valves to the world Oil & gas Market

The Role:
As part of continued expansion they are actively recruiting for a Design Draughtsman who will be based at there state of the art manufacturing facility near Dundee.

The ideal candidate will be producing design outputs in the form of3D models and drawings of valve assemblies and components for various applications so as to ensure the development and on time supply of engineered products for customers.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Carry out the design layout, modelling and drafting activities required to enable the on-time and on-budget supply of product as specified in the sales data sheets.
• Provide supporting calculations of your designs using standard templates for review
• Provide draughting support within your field of competence to all members of the engineering department.
• Where requested by your supervisor or manager, carry out checking of your colleagues designs layouts, models and drawings.
• Carry out technical reviews of sales information within your field of competence and provide feedback to your supervisor to ensure the optimum engineering solution is provided to achieve the above.
• Work within the departmental systems in accordance with company procedures, ISO9000 quality requirements and legislative demands.
• Provide technical support within your field of competence to internal and external customers and suppliers, whilst maintaining previously agreed commitments to your supervisor and colleagues.
• Provide immediate feedback to your manager on any resource, training or academic limitations that would prevent you achieving your targets and responsibilities.
• Attend and participate in activities out with the engineering department that are identified by your manager or supervisor as being necessary to enable you to fulfil your responsibilities.
• In conjunction with your supervisor, monitor your performance to committed goals, to enable effective system review and process change to drive through continuous efficiency improvement.
• Where required, a reasonable level of overtime hours should be worked to prevent slippage to committed goals.
• Ensure you conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times and in accordance with the terms of your employment as laid down in the company handbook.

Work experience requirements:
• Experience within a computer aided design for manufacturing engineering department.
• Knowledge and experience with 2D drafting (AutoCAD) and/or 3D solid modelling (Inventor) software packages.
• Experience in valves / pressure containment systems is preferred.

Education Requirements
• GCSEs or equivalent
• City & Guilds technological certificate / National Certificate or higher
